The Tampa Bay Lightning won the game tonight but....
.......their three shooters for the shootout were Hedman, Hall and Moore. They have a combined 16 goals this season.
No Stamkos, St. Louis or Lecavalier.
It's almost like the coach was trying to lose. I haven't been following the Lightning much this year. Do they regularly use their scrubs for the shootout?
those guys can score 1 on 1 they just don't score 5 on 5
They won a shootout last night without any of the stars shooting. Guess coach trying the scrubs cuz the stars arent working out?

He's a pure goal scorer - could net the next 6 tries to be 6/10.
Can't believe they're not using him because of a goose egg after only four attempts.
he's just not as potent a scorer in a shootout
nobody is....all players & coaches regard shootouts as a coinflip
Score 1vs 1 against to goalie is a different think then scoring 5 against 5 or on power play.
Stamkos must suck in shootouts
Being a stud at Shooutouts/being a stud goal scorer are two completely different things. Dunno bout st.louis but i know Lecalvier isn't great at them either. Hedman hadn't been used much and the other 2 weren't bad. Also it's always worth the coach finding out who can score in the clutch during the shootout so that when they play a more important game (say against the caps) he'll be more sure of where to turn if the first three leave it tied
Just like in soccer, the best guys in a shootout aren't always the top goal scorers.
unless the ref is going to kick the puck to Stamkos for a one-timer he won't score on shootouts like he does in games
Stammy will just lose an edge again.

Almost all his goals are one timers across the ice. Doesn't translate well in shootouts.
