    KAPALUA, Hawaii – Two-time defending champion Geoff Ogilvy has suffered an injury to his right index finger that forced him to withdraw from Wednesday’s pro-am. But the Aussie is still scheduled to play when the first round of the Hyundai Tournament of Champions begins Thursday.
    Ogilvy hurt the finger when he fell while walking in shallow water at one of the beaches in Maui. He went to the doctor on Tuesday, where he received 12 stitches on the finger. While Ogilvy didn’t necessarily need that many stitches, his doctor decided on that number as a precautionary measure.
    Ogilvy did not make mention of the injury when he met with the media on Tuesday, although his finger was bandaged.


    Ogilvy is scheduled to see his doctor again later Wednesday. The outcome of that visit may determine Ogilvy’s fate for this week.
    The cut on his finger runs across one of the joints, which means it could affect the amount of pressure he’ll be able to apply on his club.


    The Golf Channel’s Kelly Tilghman tweeted that Ogilvy may hit his first tee shot on Thursday, then withdraw. That would give him last-place money in the no-cut event.


    Ogilvy is scheduled to tee off in the final group of the day on Thursday at 6 p.m. ET (1 p.m. local time). He will be paired with defending FedExCup champion Jim Furyk. – Mike McAllister

    As I write this, you can still get decent odds against Ogilvy at Intertops (Ernie Els +100). The limit when I placed my bet was $275.

    I noticed last year he was getting some good prices and after giving it some thought he is not only a big name but is known to be struggling so I think picking spots is the key.
