Back when you had to add a cable box, to unscramble channels.

A black box was a rigged cable box with all channels unscrambled.

Even a few years ago it was easy to have a descrabled satellite with a chip in it. Unfortunately not as easy these days.

    Google FTA satellite

About 8 years ago, I knew a guy that would program the credit card in the directv box. Have to reprogram it about every 6 months.

Yes price is insane and they have figured out ways to fuk you out of the max by taking channels like versus and sticking it in some other group of shit channels so you have to spend an extra $10 to get it.

Nickle and dime you death, $10, for high def, $5 for receiver, $8 for their insurance

TV is expensive with every company these days. My friend knows someone who works for Time Warner that hooks up free internet and TV for a one time payment of $300. Too bad I live in a Cox area.

Yea man. These sports packages add up. God forbid if I order a movie. I could have a basic package, but that sux. If I didn't have to have the football package, I wouldn't bother. But, who can live without the football package?

Okay so next year when you see the first installment of the Sunday ticket on your bill...this is what you do. You call Directv and tell them that you wan to cancel it. They will then ask you why.....You tell them that it is just too expensive and that you don't think you should have to pay that much. They will then ask if you would keep it...if they could make it more affordable. You say...well maybe...depends on how much more. THey will then start cutting the price. If you hold out long enough you can get Sunday ticket for almost half of what they charge for it...and mightbe able to get them to throw in a couple other things too. I think I got 3 free months of Starz, Showtime and The Movie Channel.

    Works like a charm.

Even funnier is that they made me buy a dvr at bestbuy for $100. Then they charge me $5 a month for service. And if I leave directv, I have to give them the dvr that I paid $100 for????

Cable/satellite will eventually go the way of newspapers. The price of the local paper has gone down for years, and now, it's to the point I haven't paid for about 6 months, but still get it every day.
