You don't need to be in Vegas to gamble on sports full time unless you have a ridiculously large bankroll.

Vegas is addicting, and all you've got to do is look under the bridges around the city where many of the "fallen" now live. To go there and try and make a living off of gambling would take incredible discipline, luck on a number of levels, and a large bankroll to start. Anyone saying they went there with $500 and turned it into $5 million either hit Megabucks or is a liar.

Good decision. Can't imagine it ever would have worked out with that size of bankroll. I wouldn't even consider it unless i had 100k or more to start.

Instead ill stay here BSing with you scmucks at SBR going to the Bash and make a few trips to Vegas every year.

Vegas is still a dream of mine and although I put it on the back burner for now. Another great season could stir the pot and bring in right back.

It would be in perfect keeping for a liar and a pussy and a two-bit internet chump to make such an attention whoring thread and then not live up to it.

If you were 10% of the man you're pretending to be you don't even make this thread to begin with.

You would have just done it.

    OP,

Grow up. Get real with yourself and your family. Continue betting your "system" with play money.

You could put that 25k in online accounts and stay a police at the same time.

You don't have to physically be in VEGAS to make money.

If you are good you will make 5k a year with your 25k investment so don't expect to blow up the Vegas Sportsbooks!

I'm a indie/doc filmmaker and let me tell you, this dude has it right. If you make it real and take the wins with the losses, show all the joy and heartache, you could actually make a decent buck on the film. The more intrusive the film, the more it'll sell. Handheld's are fairly cheap and would be perfect for this type of project. Trust me, there are most likely a ton of UNLV kids who are trying to get their feet wet and would probably work for free. If you win, awesome. If you lose, you can sell it and make some money back. What you're doing obviously has an extremely low percentage of success and I'm pretty sure you already have thought that through, but you seem to have made up your mind so I wish you the best of luck man!

25 grand only?, that is a week in las vegas, why didn't you just got a vacation to bet in las vegas, or just go to a casino cruise on weekends and bet. I bet you are going to fail. My chances of winning this bet are 98%, because only a 2% succeed in the betting bussiness. But in your case I would say that my chances are way higher than than. Betting is about math, if you are bad at math you are going to be a loser. And you are really bad at math, the most important thing in the betting industry is the bankroll, the second thing is the handicapping and the third the money management. By going to las vegas youare messing your bankroll and your money management because chances are you are going broke. The best thing a sport bettor can be is a policeman, you have a great retirement, so betting wont mess you future. besides you are putting a lot of pressure in your self now, and that will affect your future handicapping career. You could have start a handicapping bussiness as well to make a extra income and prove yourself. One good year says nothing in this bussiness. Remember this is a 50% chance and any one can go on a 45 or 55% percent any blind picking. The best handicapper last year, Kyle hunter, lost most of his earning of 2010 in january 2011. But good look. I'm not judging, just betting.

So he is going to give up a decent paying job in a decent state, and move to a City that has the highest unemployment rate in the nation, the worst housing stats in the nation, and one of the highest crime rates in the nation. Brilliant!!!

In my opinion, everything is suspect about OP. He's probably a (one-time) security guard with a closet full of police paraphernalia.

Since no rent is cheaper than mom's his chance of a Nevada move is 0%.

Maxvalue1 why would you move to Las Vegas?, I can tell you about a hundred guys who did it, 90 of them came back, 6 are unemployed and broke living in Las Vegas, 2 killed themself and 1 is making a living out of it. By the way that one making a living out of it has more than 10 expert working for him and went to Las Vegas with a lot of money after several losing years betting his half a million salary to finally succeed. And also used to be an illegal bookie before going to Vegas. Just take a vacation and go there, or go to a casino cruise, you have a 99.5% chances of losing all your money in a few weeks. Yes I know that a 2% win, but those are breaking their heads doing sports analisis the whole day not hanging out in a forum. Don't take it personally, Las Vegas has the highest % of suicide ever and most people really fail as pro gambler, is just stats. I still think that you have a 0.5% of winning. It is low but your chances of been rich if you dont bet might be even lower, stadistically speaking. Remember it is all about math when it comes to sports betting and most of the decisions you take in your life counts in this equation. So be smart. Make sure you have a good income to support you dream, because you have an expensive one. If you had unlimited amount of money you could beat any casino, and the more you have the better your chances of winning. Good Luck.

Odd thread to bump, but it did get me to read 14 pages of a guy lying for attention. My favorite part was when he was all like "it's finalized, I be moving to the big side of town where my system will get me networked to the best lines and I'll be securitizing some gay strip club" to "well gosh golly geewillickers, looks like I'll be stuck here in the good ole state of Florida, what's that? I had already turned in the paperwork to leave? Well that don't matter, that Dillard's parking lot won't secure itself, to the golfcart!"

    Good times.
