Why the JETS will beat New England

    +320

    • Better RB combo of Tomlinson and Greene

If the Jets can do what they did in Indy and keep the ball away from Brady with long sustained drives, they can win this one.

They have a healthy Rivas and the team is playing well.

the KEY to victory: Getting pressure on Brady. If they can, he can be beat but give him all day (like most QB's) and he can pick apart the defense.

huh? jets didn't really do that much on offense especially in the first half. If the colts offense had played well in the first half the game would of been a blowout probably.

Agree, I will be on the Jets also. One thing that stands out to me is how much lower this ML is than the seahawks game, very similar spread, but Seahawks/Bears is -500/+423 and Jets/Pats is -400/+345. Leaving it that low seems like the books are begging you to take the Pats. Especially when the general public opinion is that the Pats are unstoppable and the Seahawks have a better chance of pulling the upset.

Jets fan here, just happy they made it into the 2nd round, not expecting them to win the game and will never put money on them.

Good luck to you taking the Jets ML.

Actually, the Pats have the better RB combo (Benjarvus and Woodhead).

    Tomlinson- 4.2 YPC
    Greene- 4.1 YPC
    Combined- 4.16, 8 TDs
    VS.
    BJGE- 4.4 YPC
    Woodhead- 5.6 YPC
    Combined- 4.77 YPC, 18 TDs

rivas??? i thought it was Revis. Already laughing at the post. Clearly you didnt put more than 45 seconds into this post...heres why:

Colts Rush defense:25th. Pats:11th. So you want them to sustain these long drives which is alot harder against the pats than the Colts. "If the Jets can do what they did in Indy and keep the ball away from Brady with long sustained drives, they can win this one. " thats a pretty big IF.

Revis. Hes top 2 CB's in the game. Who is he going to cover? Welker? Branch? He covered both in week 13 loss 45-3. Branch and Welker combined for 10 catches, 144 yards and 2 td's. He wasnt covering both at same time obviously, but clearly just having revis isnt good enough now is it? Other mismatches: Pats TE's. Whose going to cover hernandez? gronkowski? woodhead(thank you jets for letting him go). In week 13, Hernandez, gronk, woodhead combined for 8 catches for 167 yards and a touchdown. Your key to victory " Getting pressure on Brady. If they can, he can be beat but give him all day (like most QB's) and he can pick apart the defense." Another big IF when your talking about the best offensive line and Brady identifying the blitzers and such.

one of my best bets ever. shonne green still at iowa against penn state.....i heard it was gonna rain hard. took him at about these same +350ish odds. winner.

nice running game, nice secondary, sanchez has a better football mind than i thought, good receiver core...good o and d lines, semi-competent kicker......its not about whether jets can win tho...its about whether or not patriots can lose.

ravens did it last year, good luck finding holes in that d once brady realizes he wont be able to dump it off short to his rb's or when the welker screens go for 2 yards, let him toss it up to branch and hope revis doesnt snag that shit up.

I think it's worth a shot. Divisional foes and the Jets are plating very well. I am not guaranteeing anything but I like it. Brady's over rated anyway. Put any kind of pressure on him and you got a good chance.

It's easy to say that putting pressure on Brady is the key to success. However, the Jets have had difficulty pass rushing all season long. Also, according to FootballOutsiders the Jets are 29th in the NFL when you break them out of their base defense and make them use extra DB's. The Patriots excel at that in their offense.

Tough matchup for the Jets. I like the Patriots in any teaser

Last game vs Jets- 154.4 QB rating against the blitz

This season vs 5 rushers- 101.3 QB rating, 8.2 YPA
Vs 6 or more rushers- 153.8 QB rating, 13.2 YPA

    Good luck with that

Not saying the Jets can't win, of course, but its going to take multiple turnovers from the Pats for that to happen

who knows. I like they way the Jets are playing, they are confident and the week off might hurt the Pats.

good luck. teams are essentially the same as the 2 that played in december. pats were 3 to 4 point faves, so you are catching perceived value with an extra 5 or 6 points. jets are going to have to play perfect football to win this game and i just don't see snachez not making a few dumb plays to cost his team.

Only a catastrophic injury to Brady will give the Jets any hope in this spot. Belichick will have this Team ready for any and every gadget play that Rexopotumus will need to keep this game close. NE will be up convincingly by the half, putting what's left on the clock for a NY comeback on Sanchezs' shoulders. Then open the flood gates for a rout. Make no mistake about this, after NE's 1 and out last year against Baltimore, don't think for 1 second, this Team won't be prepared. Belichick will NOT take his foot off the gas here. We're under 48 hrs, good luck to the Jet backers!!!!!!!

Hopefully Rex Ryan is studying the Green Bay tapes against NE, that looked like the right game plan on how to beat the PATs or at least cover the number.
