#74jjgold they have been trying to get the ones in some of those countries for years now and they haven't done it yet. They are just trying to use these scare tactics on trying to keep people from playing at these books. I am sure that he has been smart of putting his income at a place where it cannot be touched. Probably in banks in the country where he is at or even in a safe in the basement of his home if he has to.Comment -

#78The lesson to be learned here is that if you're going to be a deadbeat tax evader and openly break US laws.......bragging about it at every turn might not be your best decision.
Along this same storyline....BW may very well already regret his bigtime interview he did for 60 Minutes.

#80I think that applies to certain conditions also I think wtf. Some countries don't even deal with them. I am not totally sure on that but I think that applies to hardened criminals and not things like being a book operator in some other country. Everyone of them countries are different. I know this that they don't even attempt to catch them in like Antigua and Costa Rica on charges like this.Comment -

#86You're 100% incorrect. Especially if that person isn't a US citizen and they don't have an extradition treaty. And another big thing: "The crime in question must also be a crime in the country you are being extradited out of." I suggest you do some reading.Comment -

#90You have no clue what you are talking about. Sure, if he steps foot in the USA he is not ok, where he is at and what he has been doing he is fine. I would love to snort a big rail in front of you, you sir are a punk. I am going to snort a big fat rail of MDMA in your honor. Calvin is a hero and Bodog will get away with it all... #91Technically true but this happens all time. If extradition is possible then attach a crime also illegal in that country (money laundering usually does the trick). The far more common situation with smaller non treaty nations is some form of compensation and agreement to deport as non desirable (in which case I'm sure Canada hands him over). I'd expect being a citizen of Canada he needs to resolves this or run as in location not known. We'll see though and I'm curious to see how this all plays out.Comment -

#92Just because a country does not have an extradition treaty with another country does NOT mean said person will NOT be extradited. It just means it will be a longer and more complicated process to extradite the criminal.Comment -

#94Domain seizures didnt impact dsi and bookmaker that much, they continue on with their bad lines and overall bland offerings, business as usual. These domain seizures and indictments are pathetic, Maryland has a $1.1 billion deficit for 2013 and over 200,000 Marylanders are unemployed and these state attorney generals are just hurting our country and leaving money on the table by not regulating and taxing online gambling.
State governments all over this country are a mess, the truth is our politicians don't tend to be entrepreneurs and businessmen, online gambling brings in billions for European countries. You see sportsbooks advertisements and sponsorships everywhere in europe, bodog insignia on Fulham shirts, Bet at home sponsors tennis tournaments, soccer tourneys, you see led banners all over the Champions league matches for sportsbooks. Bwin sponsors Real Madrid, they have their own bwin cup for the portuguese league, they sponsor the MotoGP series and formula one races. The rest of the world has fun gambling, we get prohibition style policies in the states.
Asians and Europeans and Latin American and Caribbean countries are making alot of money off our governments ignorance. At least Antigua has taken the US government to World court before, why shouldn't London and the Philippines profit from Bodog. This isnt terrorism or something like copyright piracy that hurts alot of euro countries and alot of countries, they benefit from these sportsbooks and Washington provincialism and this is definitely not like like the Carruthers situation. Bodog has been planning for this for quite awhile.
DC and alot of our state government policy really is like something out of a theater of the absurd play, none of it makes any sense. Alot of this make prohibition look brilliant.Last edited by gregm; 02-28-12, 09:14 PM.Comment -

#95He already said he's not going back to the US in the interview he did with Loshack. People spend their whole lifetimes without ever setting foot in the US. And many people wanted for prosecution in the US spend their lifetimes avoiding it because they base themselves in countries with no mutual extradition laws. The guy's not a dummy.Comment -

#105Sickler, the Canadians are the true people of this universe. The Canadians invented all that mankind has to offer and the Canadians are responsible for what we consume as a whole. We are very luck that Canada is nice to the USA or we would be in a world of hurt. Sickler, I am proud to have you as my Canadian Brother and if you aren't Canadian or have Canadian roots, you really are missing out on what life has to offer. May Jesus Christ Bless you Sickler and all of Canada!המוסד
