This comes down to the running game. I feel that a rested home team has the advantage in regards to this matchup. The road teams offensive line will lose a fraction of a second at snap due to the fear of false starts. That dome is loud folks!

It is also hard to play back to back road playoff games and win.

Just curious. This elite quarterback Aaron Rodgers, how many post season wins does he have? I am not saying Matt Ryan is elite because he doesn't have any post season wins. How can you say Aaron Rogers is elite when he just won his first post-season game? Aaron Rodgers is a great quarterback especially for Fantasy Football Teams.

So I know he has a chance for MVP, is Mike Vick elite? He has single handedly won games for his teams, and has more post season wins than Aaron Rogers. Aaron Rodgers isn't elite until he gets his team to an NFC Championship Game. This isn't my only meter, an elite quarterback needs to be able to win a game for his team with under 2 minutes left in the game and he needs to continue to win games for his team. Aaron Rodgers is almost there. If he beats Atlanta and Chicago, he will officially be elite. Until then he is a really good QB.

Everybody seems to overlook the fact that GB is facing an ultra short week and having to travel while ATL is rested and had much more preparation time. Every year people forget about these factors in the Divisional round and wonder why a lot of the games aren't very competitive with the home teams winning pretty handily. Even if GB is "better", the conditions favor Atlanta in a HUGE way. I can see the game getting out of hand in Atlanta's favor.

If GB can pull off the win, then I do agree that they will represent the NFC in the Superbowl.

    travel +short rest = overrated

what do 2000 ravens, 2005 steelers, 2007 giants have in common? 4-0 in the playoffs, all on the road.

    cheeseheads go 2-0 this saturday.

Elite as in one of the best 6 QBs in football. Brady and Manning are in a class by themselves, and then there is Brees, Rivers, Big Ben and Rodgers in any order you choose. Ryan is a notch below (but gaining).

Oh and Vick does not even belong in top 10. He is not even the best pure passer on his own team, if Kolb had any mobility whatsoever, Vick probably would not have been given a chance.

Ya,the Packers with no established running back will come up huge this remaining post season. Then they have a typical bunch of green undisciplined,on and off the field Rastafarian defensive backs as they always seem to have that breakdown in big games. They have to be the team that most often has to find defensive backfield help because of injuries, rape case guys getting cut from the team .etc.

The old saying that defense wins championships I don't buy anymore. Bear won't the Super Bowl this year with that offense. And the reason the Steelers have been so successful over the years because they have an balanced run and passing game on offense. That defense only helps them win. The defense didn't throw that last minute touchdown to Santonio Holmes in the SB against the Cardinals.

Don't under estimate home field in the playoffs. Look was the Seahawks did to the Saints who are clearly the better team.

What makes them the best team in the NFC right now? Short week - 2nd straight road game - before that Pats, Giants, Bears. Kind of a grind if you ask me. Plus they looked like shit against a Bears team who didnt even need the game.

i think for falcons to win ryan needs to have a big game. if he chokes like he did vs saints, they dont stand a chance.

but i have a funny feeling that the game will come down to james jones' hands. he will either win it with a clutch catch or lose it with another dropsy.

    cant wait for this game!!!!!

cant argue with that. PLUS falcons were leading in interceptions earlier this year and i think they may have finished off with the lead in return yardage given up. ive maybe missed one falcons game this year- they are serious business.

i think either team can come away with the close W.

They were attracting that market, now the line goes to 2.5, and will later go up to three to even things out. All the sportsbooks care about is the money they will make if both sides get bet 50-50. Atlanta at home is a terrible match up for Green Bay. Atlanta on third down there percentage is 47 percent, Green Bays, 42 percent, fairly even. Atlanta was second in the league in time of possession, green bay was seventh. Turnover ratio +14 for Atlanta, +10 for Green Bay. These teams are fairly even I will give you that, but to bet on Green Bay after they played last week on the road, while Atlanta was resting getting ready for a home game is a square bet. Atlanta was the least penalized team during the regular season, they play smart, no turnover ball, and in the post-season adding the fact that they convert on third down, and also have a great home record, how could you bet Green Bay? Atlanta is going to run the ball down there throat and hit Gonzalez on third down, and drive down the field. Matt Ryan had 6 fourth quarter comebacks this season alone, he knows how to win. He beat a good Baltimore team, beat the saints once on the road, Matt Ryan last time out against Green Bay, 28 attempts, 24 Completions. This defense is not going to shut him down. Michael Turner last time, 110 yards on 23 carries. The best team in the NFC is ATLANTA! Green Bay is going to lose this week, and than I can stop hearing about Aaron Rodgers
that's kind of a backhanded compliment.. knowing that more than a third of their games they were down in the 4th should make Falcons backers nervous. If GB is up in the 4th then you would have to be an idiot to still like the Falcons.

Obviously, the sides are divided with people who are stat-oriented and those who are for recent performance-based teams.

Those of you who predicted the Falcons to win by 10pts or more have very extreme views. To me, i think, if GB doesn't win by 7, then it will be a very close game decided by a field goal or less. Who wins in this close game? I don't know, but I would definitely take the +1.5pts for GB.

My pick is going to be over 43.5

    The Power Ratings do.

If the books rate them the best, it's probably best not to disagree with them.

And I also think the "rest" factor is overrated in the playoffs, the better team usually wins and teams off of a bye are only .500 straight up and have a losing record ATS in recent years.

Green Bay may be on a little run right now, but come on you can't tell me there better than Atlanta. Turner is going to have a good game, and Turner will get completions to White throughout the game. I'm telling you this, LT, really gonna bet against the best home team, when they are at home in the playoffs? Will be a close game, but I'm leaning 27-17 Atlanta.

Why do people keep bringing up there undefeated record in regular season?

Regular season doesn't mean shit oh and whats the falcons playoff record at home in the dome? 0-1? Thats what I thought, I dont know how any idiots can see this game is a lock this is probably the big coin flip, but I'll give gb has the edge Rodgers is way better then Ryan have no clue what some of you guys are smoking

GB scored 10 points against a team with nothing to play for less than two weeks ago. I can't gauge their offensive production off what they did against a bad defense 6 days ago. If I played GB (not touching this game), it would not be because of their ability to score.

Packers in a romp... Great regular season for Atlanta but not enough defense to win a playoff game.
