AMP Amplified Mass XXX is good and easy to find(GNC) but make sure you are doing some serious lifting while using this or you'll turn into a pear shaped chubby boy.

Make your own. 2 scoops protein plus 1/2 -1 cup ground up oats (w coffee grinder). Using this for meals add scoop of peanut butter or add an egg or so. Much more healthy. Also after workout do the protein plus 1/2 cup oats. You'll gain. I did. Went from 170-220. GNC is a rip off. Prices way too high.

After Shock Critical Mass by Myogenix I hear is real good. Great taste and is even more effective than AMP Amplified Mass XXX but is sometimes hard to find.

Dont go to GNC if you want to gain weight...

Its a waste of money, b/c most of those products will fuk you up internally.

Start eating peanut butter jelly sandwiches right b4 you go to sleep. Load up on carbs throughout the day. Eat lots of meat, and not the fast food shit.

I'm pretty big dude. 5'8 215. I'm solid muscle. I have no six pack, but I'm no soft in the middle either.

GNC, and other nutrition spots are not the way to go.

Peanut butter & jelly sandwiches with glasses of milk 3 times a day on top of whatever you eat now... add any gnc product to that and do it for a month. You'll be right where you want to be and fast.

protein won't cause any weight gain, you need carbs not any sugar with protein which most weight gainers and whey protein is. Plus to gain muscle you need to stimulate growth.. I bet you never heard that one before.

You need to rest and recover and leave your hormones in your body to repair so you can gain, don't leave your hormones in the gym. Growth happens after recovery, not before, or during

why 3 sets of 10, why not 3 sets of 9 or 3 sets of 11, or 2 sets of ten or 4 sets of ten????

I recommend warmup sets and 1 set to failure, aka hit training. Slow controlled movements with pre exhaustion and a static hold at the end of the lift.

You probaly never heard this before either, but the stimulus responsible for increasing size and strength is the last rep of a set carried to failure, if that last rep is progessive resistance or progressive overload.

    Seriously:

If you want to gain size of reasonable quality you have to eat and rest. This should be addressed as it can be much more difficult than it appears.

    As for training, try this:

    Monday:

    Warm up properly

Squats: Full on ass busting to the floor squats. Work up to two sets of four to six. These last two sets should be something like 90% on the first and 95+% on the second.

Stiiff Legged Pulls: One or two warm-ups followed by three sets of 6. I recall asking an old timer about these once and he replied: "I don't know for sure what good they are but they'll make you a tough son of a bitch".

Bent Rows with a barbell: One or two warm-ups then same as above. (I did 555x3 on these, long ago)

    Tuesday:

Pull ups: use weight if possible three sets of 6. If eighteenth rep is comfortable then add weight

Bent Rows with a barbell: One or two warm-ups then same as above. (I did 555x3 on these, long ago)

    Weighted Dips: cf. above

Clean and Press: Warm ups, 3 sets of 5.

    Thursday and Friday:

Higher reps and add some single joint stuff for each group, split it as above, to wit: Lower body and back on Thursday; upper body on Friday. One must "hone the groove" when it comes to neural pathways and muscle memory patterns.

    On the other hand!

I gained greatly on a program of high rep squats followed by cross bench pullovers and NOTHING else, done three times a week.

    Remember this:

Squats will put muscles on a grapefruit.

And to answer forthrightly: No need for a weight gainer. Squats realized correctly are all the weight gainer you'll ever need. Appetite for food will become your constant companion.

Don't waste your money on weight gainers, but if you insist on it, go for MHP Up Your Mass. Best tasting protein I've had.

Just eat an extra meal during the day, or make your own gainer like was suggested above (2 scoops whey, oats, maybe PB). Also, google "protein sludge" and click the first link (not sure if I'm allowed to link other forums or not). That's a good addition to your diet.

Finally, make sure you have casein protein before you go to bed. Can be in a glass of milk, serving or 2 of cottage cheese, or if you don't like either of those, just buy a casein protein product. It slowly absorbs into your system over 6-8 hours, so it will feed your body while you sleep. Much better than just adding a 600 calorie, high sugar weight gainer. Look into creatine as well

Aristocles advice is the best in this thread.
Squats do amazing things when it comes to elevating your bodies own HGH and testosterone production.
Eat a lot and eat clean. Make sure you don't overtrain, many people do.
And if you are looking at putting on 15lbs of lean body mass this is going to take a while unless you have superior genetics or you run cycle.

If its whey protein, after (within 45 min or so). If you're buying a gainer, have it in between meals
