    Generic English names like Johnson, Taylor, Williams, etc. are somewhat acceptable, but when you see names like "Kirkpatrick" (e.g. name of a coal black Bama player with dreadlocks)..you just have to

    Imagine an Asian American with the name "Kumba Obongo"..

    One of my best friends last name is my moms maiden name. I always call him my cousin when were out together & people just look at me funny because hes black as the ace of spades.

    What say the altruists on this?

    On one hand, it's extremely taboo and offensive, so they would never dare bring it up; but on the other, it is still an obvious issue that no doubt causes great shame and embarassment.
