Iran has been playing these war games longer than Bush was President. This goes back to the days of Jimmy Carter.

It goes back a bit further than that.

Khomeni would never have become the figurehead he did without the US and UK propping up the equally repressive regime of the Shah.

A lunatic like Ahmedinjad (not that the President has real authority) having access to nuclear weapons is a scary thought but it is naive to think that Iran will rest until it has that capability as long as Israel does.

Not going to happen. We were told ten years ago that they were just a short time from building a nuke. You would think that if they were really at such risk of being destroyed they would have done something by now. Believe it or not, nobody is out to nuke us you dumb *****. Why would they? So that we can retaliate and nuke them right back, wiping out their entire country? If the Eastern Hemisphere wants to blow themselves up, let them. Not our problem. We should take solace in the fact that we live an ocean apart from that environment. We have friendly nations on each border.

I love this country but the truth is we've done just as many ****** up things as any other country. We're going around invading countries in the name of WMDs when we are in fact responsible for the two deadliest nuclear blasts in history. Bombs that killed thousands and thousands of innocent men, women and children. BABIES.

We entered WWII because of Pearl Harbor. And we only declared war on Japan at that time. After they attacked, we staked our claim to the "watchdogs for crimes against humanity" title by dropping two nuclear weapons on Japan, which led to almost half a million civilian casualties. This after massive fire bombing campaigns on their major cities, which also killed thousands of people.

We only went to war with Germany because they declared war on us first. They declared war on us in order to gain favor and help from Japan. The US never would have went to war solely because of what was happening to the Jews. We go to war for one reason and one reason only: MONEY. Either to make it or to protect it. Period.

We have the "highest morals?" Says who? Our citizens are morally conscious for the most part, but politicians run this country, and anyone with a brain knows that most of them are morally bankrupt. These are the people that represent us, and they are the "we" that you talk about.

In order for our country to be great again, we have to stop acting like it's this perfect little fairytale place where everything is right just because it's us that did it. We are moving farther and farther away from the principles that this nation was founded on. We're gradually losing the freedoms and liberties that separated us from other countries. Too many people get defensive when they hear the things that are wrong with the US. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging fundamental flaws with your country and trying to rectify them. It's a lot more patriotic than turning a blind eye while things deteriorate.

We actually turned away the st. louis which was a ship from germany that was full of jews looking for a safe place from Germany. It sit outside miami and we made it go back to Germany where most were put in concentration camps and died. Even Walt Disney hated jews back then. We usually don't care about genocide unless we have something to gain from it. Genocide is happening in 2/5's of Africa countries and we could care less unless it involves oil.

You are correct sir, one of the many reasons that many of the Israeli Jews are so concerned about self protection. They know that very few countries will come to their aid and that Jew hatred is a religion for many people. I am a liberal and not very happy about some of the Israeli practices, but I certainly do understand them.
