Can the best high school team beat the worst college team?

We all would agree there is no way the best college team would beat the worst pro team in football and the nba and the other sports though baseball might be a bit close if they have an outstanding pitcher on the mound.

But i am curious. Would you guys say the best high school football/basketball team could beat the worst division 1 college team? I would assume the answer is hell no? I think the worst team in Division 1 college basketball is some team called New Jersey Institute of technology where they lost like 42 games in a row i recall a few years ago.

What about a division 2 or division 3 school? I mean most players who play basketball/football but are not that good do play for their division III team. And these players are not really that good but good enough for the team. I think one of the best high school basketball teams every year is Oak Hill Academy and many pro NBA players went there such as Carmelo, Stephen Jackson and just a number of other players when they were in high school.

Would you guys say a team like that have a good chance at beating NJIT and the other worst division 1 teams? I really think that they would have a good shot at beating a Division 3 team because most guys on that team were never that good in high school and were just role players back in high school. I'm pretty sure football would be a lot harder for the high school team and they probably wouldn't stand a chance.

But if the high school team has many potential NBA players or the high school football team has many good players who would be able to play at the top schools, don't you think they would have an okay shot at beating a Division 3 college team? I know the whole high school team would not be an all star team but wouldn't they have some kind of a shot since they have a couple of stars players?

    Thoughts?

Yes I think Oak Hill Academy could beat NJIT....I don't think a high school team could beat a D1A football team, but D2 and maybe D1AA 1 out of every 3 times or something.

best high school basketball team probably runs the table in D3 above average in D2, and wins a couple games in D1, for example st anthonys in jersey city 2007 roster included 9 future division 1 players. Travon woodall, pitts current leading scorer, Tyshawn taylor, whos been a nice player for Kansas since his frosh year, jio fontan who lead fordham in scoring before transfering to USC where he is currently averaging 17 ppg, and Mike Rosario who was rutgers leading scorer in his frosh and soph years now is playing at florida where he is averaging 18ppg. Those are just 4 players who were on that team.

definitely not football. It's such a physically dependent game that you can't discount the few years of growth not only physically but in terms of knowledge and experience as well.

the hs football powerhouse teams in florida, texas, and california could EASILY compete with a d3 team. they'd have better (but younger) talent and probably better coaching.

Some stacked high school basketball programs who are basically like mini colleges could definitely hang in the relms of the NCAA Basketball world.
