Uhhh, what happens in the 8th inning has little to do with what the pregame total was set at. Your rationale is that pushes rarely happen so there must be a run scored?

And to wrap this up, you claim I sit on 6 game streaks for a week, which isn't true of course, and also contradicts what you're going on about here.

and there was...just happened with .5 inning left and not 1.5 innings left...so your rationale of something being big chalk means won't happen...just happened .5 inning too late and you scraped through with a win...which is 3 in a row you you just squeaked by

None of what you posted made a shred of sense.

Runs being scored the next inning are irrelevant. The next inning was a different situation with the pitching and the lineup. What you claimed about the total being 7 meant more runs would be scored is so ridiculous I don't even know where to begin. I suggest you start a thread with this claim. Should be fun.

so you actually asses a pick upon a situation? in this case batters in the line up, pitcher, etc?

but you just picked usa win because it was big chalk...not taking into consideration they haven't lost or had many draws on home soil in several years?

and i didn't say there was a guarantee of a run being scored within the next 1.5 innings...what i was saying there was a good possibility with it since the rates of pushes aren't that high...and throw the muts bull pen into the equation...that is how i assessed the situation...you saw the bottom 891 coming up for braves and 9,1,2 coming up for the mets...not really that big of a deal there seeing pinch hitters were coming in

No run was a big favorite due to the situation. It obviously wasn't a big favorite in the 9th inning.

A)Yes, it is that big of a deal. Pinch hitter or not, there's a pretty big difference between 8-9-1 (it's not bottom 891. It's 891. What exactly would top 891 be?) and 2-3-4.
B)Once again, the pregame total had essentially nothing to do with whether a run would be scored in the 8th or not. The rate of pushes isn't high for obvious reasons. That doesn't mean that in an individual situation, it won't land on the total.

btw...with your rationale why take lincecum 1st inning k? the top of line up had 4 strike outs in last 28 at bats against him...and don't generally strike out that much anyway

I had an L2 when I picked Lincecum K and that was on June 1, but I'm glad you're going through all of my picks to find something else to criticize.

Lincecum K was the obvious more likely scenario, but if you can't understand why that would be, I'm not getting into a 10 post back and forth about it.

why would it be? why would it be any different than the situational analysis that you gave with the bottom of the order not having high likelihood of helping produce a run? going with stats in both situations...why think 3 dudes who strike out at a low late and haven't been by given pitcher would have a high likelihood of being struck out?

if you check fangraphs, the SM usually chooses guys who have between 55-60% on Hit/Walk/K

I suppose something could be said for pitchers having the advantage the first time around in the line-up, better pitchers or just plain variance

Just did the research and it was Animal Kingdom vs the field so pretty easy.

I played a college BB game "any other result" when I was at 4 winners..it won and when I logged in the pick did not go through and it messed me up psychologically

my pick before that had also been "any other result" so I thought it was p[endinding but it did not go through because I played at l;ast minute

maybe they should clarify that "any other result" by adding team name

It fuked me up..watching whole game..thinking I won and it never went through

I got so frustrated I committed intentional suicide on the next play

Took 6 or fewer for hole 10.

Choi and Kuchar both hit it onto the green with their first shot.

Choi then misses a short putt for par (lipped out) and Kuchar misses a slightly longer one for birdie.

Ends up 7. Geez. Terrible beat. Two putts lipped out. Either one would've meant 6 or fewer.
