Twas the nght before Christmas and all through the book
Not a creature was stirring, not one past-posting crook;
The pointspreads were hung on the website with care
In hope that flush bettors soon would be there.
Those gamblers were nestled all snug in their beds
While visions of five-teamers danced in their heads.
I turned on the TV to find out the score
Of one of my bowl games - I'd bet over a score!
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
The neighbors were knocking to see what was the matter -
I threw open the window and let out a roar -
"I got three in already, I'm going for four."
The moon on the crest of the new-fallen snow
Gave the luster of midday to objects below -
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear
But a minature tout who whispered "No Fear!"
(Ok, the muse has exhasted me with this effort, I'll leave it to others to finish it. You can find the full, original poem on a number of online sites.)
