BetEd and Sportsbetting went 5-2 yesterday on RL "arbs" with Matchbook.

You guys think there's something to "betting the soft side of an arb"?

i had a couple questions about this. one, are there as many scalps in spread sports such as baskets and foots? and two, i imagine you go bust eventually at one book and have to take a payout from the other book to reup at the first book. with all these checks coming to you, what about taxes? as you arent really winning that money as u lost it on the other side at the book, do u have to pay taxes on this money? do the banks report it as income eventhough it wasnt?

1. scalping is easier in baseball. the spread is always the same (1.5 runs). where as in nba or nfl, you have to worry about the spread, and the juice (-110, -105, etc). so that complicates things a little for nba and nfl

2. yeah u will go bust at books a lot. but this is good b/c you get a reload bonus when you re-deposit with them.

3. i always switch up my payout methods. i use **, **, regular bank check, wire. do not over use and abuse the same method. otherwise ** will blacklist you b/c they will figure out you are using them to gamble. do not pay fees for payouts. most books offer one free payout every 30 days

4. i dont report my winnings or losses.

You have to pay taxes on your total income. Just as any business has revenue and expenses, the same would hold true for someone who wins money at sports betting. You should pay taxes on your total profit/income. Pay your taxes, this is important.

zeta got an idea for you maybe to test not sure if it will work

notice the top publicly backed teams, so when you see these teams playing the next day you have a good idea the public will be on them, therefor the line should move in your favour more times then not.

If you grabbed the opener at pinny (usually around 3-4pm the day before)
by close to game time you should be able to make arbs

not sure how well this will work but just a suggestion

site is pretty self explanatory

they show the two sites at which to bet, and the odds of each bet, the profit is obviously the amount you make from betting at both books
the only problem is they use a lot of sites, most of which you might not have money at however they find some nice arbs
look at the first one for tennis tomorrow 4.7% profit..

how do i change the settings on that site so it only lists books popular to american gamblers(greek, bookmaker, 5dimes, betjam, etc.) i also want to change the settings so it lists arbs in : mlb, nfl, nba leagues. i dont know how to wager with tennis or soccer.. lines are too confusing.

and tennis and soccer is straight forward, if you are using that site then just bet the odds they have listed 1 means the first team 2 means the away team

good post -- predicting line movements can be as hard as predicting winners --- be cautious about trying to arb by anticipating. as of now, 9 am, the above suggestion for cws is bad advice, though it's a long time til game time, so it still may be good - or not.

this does not yield a profit, but if you pound it for the max 5dimes allows for reduced juice (risking $500 to win $775), it will yield 500 bet points at bookmaker. also a good way to clear rollover.

i did not arb this bet/ instead i chose to go for a middle. i just put 275 on clippers +8 -110 at bookmaker.

sawyer if the spurs win by 7 or 8 i win 227 bucks. if any other outcome occurs i lose 22 bucks. so my odds here are about +1030. and 7 is a key number in nba.

7 is a more common number in the NBA, but not a *keynumber*...where did you get this fairy tale from? Fishhead?
Just look at the Pinny line, buying off 7.5 to get -7 you would have to pay 11c. So it is prolly worth 9-10c...which means your middle is 100% worthless.
