    Andy Roddick article (from GQ)

    https://www.gq.com/story/andy-roddic...t-newtab-en-us

Reading this right now. I always thought Roddick was an interesting case study.

He won the US Open vs Ferraro. Two matches I'll remember most:
    1) Marathon match from 2003, in which he defeated Younes El Aynaoui.
    2) The five-set loss at Wimbledon vs Federer.
...IMHO, Roddick played well enuf to win that day. Just ran into a guy who was a little better.

Easy to pile on this guy. He had a great career, easily could have won multiple Grand Slams. And he has a smoking-hot wife.

Roddick was a gentleman and great sport.

I remember once he told the umpire about a bad line call that let Verdasco win a tournament against him.

I like watching Roddick’s insight on tennis channel after every match. I like his sense of humor.

A big factor holding him back from winning multiple slams was his groundstrokes. Roddick had a monster serve but his groundstrokes were mediocre. Would definitely not be able to hang with today’s game with all these beast baseline players like Alcaraz and Djokovic.

Decker is ugly and she looks older than 36.

He kinda sucked, never broke thru as a great and dominate player. Married a model and seems he needs a come to Jesus moment if you ask me.

That is certainly not how I remember him and not what comes to mind when I hear his name.

If not for Federer, he'd be a legend. I think he lost seven or eight GS finals against him.

Yes, the article goes into detail. In particular, the gut-wrenching 5-set loss at Wimbledon.

Roddick made four GS Finals in his career. He won one.

WHat have I forgotten? It was quite a while back now.

Have to admit that a lot of my opinion comes from the tourney when he asked the umpire to over rule a line call that was against him and gave the tourney to Verdasco.

Yes, it's been awhile but he always struck me as a baby.

I certainly never looked at him as an example of how to act.

^ He married up. Not a great looking dude. Kinda looks like a creepy serial killer if you ask me. These are good pictures of him too. Lol.
