2023 name 10 teams that won't make the playoffs.

250 points entry for the contest. The catch here is that I give you until Sept 14 at 8pm to make picks and send me the points. So you get to watch week 1 and see how things go
I think that's very fair and it also gives you a shot in case a big name gets hurt .

Those who send points and make picks before week 1 starts( sep 7/8pm) will get priority treatment on winnings. So they will get paid 60% of the pot.

ONLY winners will be paid and points will be split amongst winners.

Pretty cool. IMHO, the AFC side looks pretty easy.

The big question is: *Will the Jets break thru?

Barring a Tua injury in MIA, I say NO. Jets will be a busto team. Salah will get canned...but he'll get another HC job in two years.

Will TUA stay healthy Chucky? BIG ?. NYJ D is pretty good. I have been reading on the forums that most seem to be down on the Jets Chances this year. Yeah the O Line issues might become a problem. Get that fixed and NYJ make the playoffs. My 2 cents.

Nice job Laker. But couldn't you come up with a more unique idea? Like who will top all 8 divisions

Seems a waste to have two contests predicting the same thing.

Predicting 10 teams to miss the playoffs is difficult. Predicting 6 isn't.

Opti, you want to hear an Oddball pick?

    *GBay to win Division.

    My logic is pretty simple:
*GB QB transition won't be as big of a dropoff as the market suggests.
*Chi QB got some hype, mostly b/c their defense was bad. And they made an awful trade shipping LB R.Smith.
*Min was incredibly lucky last year. The markets sniffed that out.
*Det hasn't had this much optimism in a while. Campbell was on the hot-seat early last year. And do you believe in Goff?

Yes if you pick before week 1 you are in the higher pot. If you pick just before week 2 you go to the lower pot. You can still win either way. Now if no one from the higher pot wins then obviously the lower pot can win 100%.

The median no-juice price on the 10 teams with the longest odds to make the playoffs is -350, which roughly correlates to a 22% chance of making the playoffs. The chance of dodging a 22% outcome 10 times is less than 1/2 of 1%.

If you aren't refunding entries if nobody hits then the 5 current entrants are being paid 4:1 on a greater than 200:1 outcome. You may want to reconsider the following rule:

ONLY winners will be paid and points will be split amongst winners.

It's for points and fun. It's not that serious. Plus if you think your contest is better for value then so be it. A dead dog can pick 6 teams to not make the playoffs. I did it last year for fun in your contest and did not bother with the points. That's a joke contest. 6 teams lol.

Yeah, but didn't you pick the Eagles this year?

So that one's dead already... must not be that easy if you can't string two years in a row together.

I have balls. Look at my picks from last year. I didn't just go with the obvious picks. The Eagles will not be in the playoffs this year. I thought you followed the NFL.

There's like a 2% chance of that happening. Even if Hurts got injured right out of the gate they'd probably make the playoffs.

Let's be honest, if that contest paid out a $1,000,000 to anyone who successfully picked six non-playoff teams, rather than betpoints or cabbage soup or whatever the purse is, you're going back to the drawing board and churning out your real picks... Eagles wouldn't even sniff the cut.

Laker is a shot taker IMO Eddy. Having written that Probably better chance than 2% chance that Philly does not make the playoffs. Good luck gentlemen.

You can get -400 that they make it. That's a hell of a good deal if you aren't being too hyperbolic. According to the Books, they give them around a 76% chance. I'd say that's about right. Stranger things have happened.

I also think there will likely be a team or 2 that will destroy most peoples picks. If anyone gets all 10 right, I will be surprised.

What does "shot taker" mean in the context of the contest though? It's a win/lose proposition so Panthers pays the same as Eagles.

Exactly or as I like to say
that's why they tee it up !

Goat, like most I used to go a lot of Saturday and Sunday everybody get drunk and watching football get togethers.
After most were intoxicated I could really piss some off.
They be talking about stats and what each team needed to win.
I'd come in after it was already good and heated up, and say all hell you can throw all that shit out the window all that matters is the final score.
My brother-in -law was pretty much a bad azz and his best friend was too, can't tell you how many times they kept me from getting my azz kick.
Good times and memories those days are gone!
Every weekend during football season it was a party!! The later it got the more people that showed up. On Saturday for sure Collage football is bigger around here than Pro. Most times we would still be going strong at daylight on Sunday morning.

See this is a real contest. That's why so many guys are afraid to enter. 6 teams to miss the playoffs is easy if you WANT to win. This will be much different. This is where the men play.
