    Three Takeaways From Game Five

    1) Can we please stop with this Enbid > Jokic nonsense.
Jokic just became the first NBA player in history to have the most assists, rebounds, and points scored for an entire post season series.
He averaged a triple/double across twenty post season games for the love of God
30/13/9.8 gets rounded up to ten.
Last time I will say this, there is not anything that Embid does that Jokic can not do, and Embid can not distribute the ball.

    Please, just stop

    2) Can we please stop with this Malone is a crappy coach nonsense.?
And he was already in Denver six months before he drafted Jokic.
They both developed at the same time.

Please, just stop with this Malone is crap nonsense

    3) Can we please stop with this 'Spoe is some sort of coaching god?
He is not, coaching gods don't call for a low percentage three point shot down three points with 18 seconds left to play.

Did you flip over to ESPN and see Texas lose that fly ball in the California sky and gift wrap Stanford tickets to Omaha?

Joker is amazing. I am in disbelief with how he dribbles the ball coast to coast for the biggest dude on the floor. That shit alone is wacked out. Love it!

Brutal finish to that series... I mean my goodness, you can't script a bigger gut punch.

    I did.
I was a catcher for twelve years, and I can't bad mouth Kennedy.
When those balls get lost in cloudless skies, or overhead lights, there is not a thing you can really do about that.
Even with your glove there is only so much you can shield.
I feel for him, it's a helpless feeling.
I've seem all time MLB great outfielders lose the ball the same way

I never played OF, I just caught DH when not catching, and was a emergency third baseman, only if needed.
I have shagged balls in the OF in practice, trust me, I could not play OF, it's difficult.

But the catcher pointed at the ball. Can't they follow directions? That's why I'd make a great outfielder, I would just follow the catcher's pointer finger and locate the ball see.

Jokic cemented himself this playoffs. That's what the greats do. Embiid hasn't done it yet. Jokic is the best basketball player in the world, and one of the best big men in history. It's honestly crazy what he can do. The guy has eyes in the back of his head like no player, regardless of position.

No one ever said Spoe is a god... 2 finals in last 4 years with mediocre teams is pretty impressive IMO....

Finally ends another shitty championship matchup.
    Georgia
    Vegas
    Nuggets
    Uconn

I would argue 2023 might be the worst set of championship matchups in the last 50 years. Everyone wants the Cinderella run but when you get that you just get teams that get absolutely smashed at the end
Only championship so far in 2023 worth watching was the Super Bowl and it was the best two teams squaring off.

denver made moves for awhile. drafted murray and kept jokic over nurkic, took a chance on mpj and came back truly healthy, traded for gordon, kcp, jeff green, etc... they deserve it

I'd go to war with Jokic over Embid any day.

But taking an 8th seed to the Finals is pretty impressive. I didn't think they'd pass the first round. This just tells you, Eastern conference is still very weak.

Spo is not perfect but he has been to the Finals 6 times as a Head Coach including two without Lebron which shows he can win with whatever he has to work with. The fact that he got this years Miami team to the Finals is impressive because they should've lost to Milwaukee with the talent they have.

    I don't really get #2 and #3

Malone is an average coach at best. Nothing's ever impressed me about him and this series didn't really change any of that (maybe a little)

Spoelstra is one of the best in the entire league. He will command $20 million/year when he signs his next deal

I more than respect your opinions, and I like it when people disagree with my opinions, because there are no correct or incorrect answers.

Spoe IMO is a solid NBA coach, that's a tad overrated, but still solid in my eyes.

Malone IMO, although not a great coach is a lot better than average.

    Just my two cents.

That;s some liberal crap there. Like saying there's no science in gender identity. Of course there are correct answers; it's the difference between winning & losing... that's what I love about sports betting. No BS.

Can’t believe anyone would think Jokic falls to the floor better than Embid. Not saying Embid is a great passer but when you throw him the ball and four guys just stand and watch it is pretty tough to get an assist. That is the beauty about playing with the Joker tho. If you give an honest effort to get open you are going to have a great chance to get the ball.

Here's a takeaway for you all; Joker is not a substandard defender. Of course there's matchups that present a problem for him but overall he is good on that end because he protects the paint and he sweeps the boards. He was a big factor in Butler's struggles this series -he was afraid to finish on drives vs the big guy.

It was like watching Marc Gasol, even late in his career; the space he eats up and the awareness of whether to take the charge or contest the shot while never leaving his feet... it's a problem for attacking players.

I don't think so. Jokic is an underrated defender, but Butler was attacking the rim against Lopez and Giannis, two DPOY candidates, and Jrue holiday, an all world defender. I think Butler was very injured in the finals and they just weren't revealing the extent. I don't think a player like Jimmy Butler is scared of jumping over a guy like Jokic.

Not only that Malone was making life for Butler with all sorts of different bodies.
    KCP, Gordon, Braun...
Malone made sure Butler wasn't going to beat them.

Going into the finals Butler was averaging about 28 per game for the playoffs.
Butter averaged about 21 for the final series.

    That's a 25 percent drop-off

Regarding Jokic's defense, it's better than average., not great.
