College basketball, most wide-open of all times

I don’t think I’ve seen a year like this where there’s really no dominate teams. Anybody could get knocked off early round of the tournament.

Agreed. I have 3 futures placed:

    UNC +800
    Arizona +2500
    Alabama +2500

Totally agree, this could be a dream season for so many teams.
Big 12 is mother freaking LOADED, top to bottom loaded.
Big East is nine deep, so is the Big 10.
Every team in the SEC is at .500 or above.

ACC is top heavy, as usual, and the PAC 12 really drops off after Az. State.

The one constant that never changes is my hometown Fairfield Stags still can't suck enough.
We've cornered the market in sucking.

Looking at Jeff Sagarin's numbers, right now 16 games into the season, any one of fifty teams has a realistic shot of winning it all.

Good question, so I put on my geek cap and tried to figure it out.
K-State checks all the boxes, 2-0 in league play, 1-0 vs. ranked opponents, 13-1 overall.

Jeff Sagarin has the Cats ranked 30th overall, mediocre (140) SoS that's due to the ealy season games against Rio Grande, Kansas City, and three other stiffs, but still, if TCU is ranked 17, then KSU should be at the very least top 12.

Everything will come out in the wash, it always does.

And now they just whooped #6 Texas on the road. SoS can actually be overrated. You can only play the teams on your schedule. K St should be top 15 at the very worst.

From your lips to God's ears.
I've been preaching that since the beginning of time, like I mentioned I was just searching for reasons as to why KSU isn't ranked, the soft schedule at the start of the season was the only thing I could come up with.

Probably not the best team in their own state let alone country.
