Ya, Saban made a good point tonight. How you going to keep them out when a book would make them the favorite. most likely double digits, against every team but Georgia. Big 10 is weak and you put either Michigan or OSU up against either of those teams and they would win and win convincingly.

Did Saban actually mention the books? Because in the past, he's railed against the books for making his team a huge favorite and said "we still have to play, they know nothing, etc."

They asked him why should Bama be in. I can't remember his exact wording but basically said that they would be favored to win against any of those team that were being considered.

    And he would be right.

I do agree that Bama would be favored against anyone but Georgia.

If they put Bama in they would move them to the 3rd seed and kick TCU out, no way they would put Bama up against Georgia in the first round. But if that happened Big 10 would disappear quickly yet again.

Bama was favored in both of the games they lost this year. Italy would have been favored to win their entire group in the World Cup. They didn't even qualify. Snooze you lose. Better luck next time.

Bama not even good anyway. Only usually 1 guy on their team every year that actually has a long nfl career. Mickey mouse level compared to nfl. Texans 55 Bama 0, final score?

Alabama would be double-digit favorite over TCU. BUT TCU should get in with only loss being in OT yesterday, especially over a 2-loss team.

i think tcu should not be penalized for losing very close in their championship game that they do not get in over a 2 loss team. and i agree with saban but it is the way the standings work.

Interesting thread. I liked the Italy World Cup analogy.

Guys. I don’t know **** about college football.

What would be the most competitive championship game featuring the 2 best teams (regardless of their record)?

    Georgia vs Bama?

    Georgia vs Michigan?

    Some other combo?

It's going to be TCU not even a debate. One of the least compelling arguments ever over who is in. Common sense would say Tennessee would be in over Bama and you essentially would reward Bama for losing to LSU by putting them in because they didnt have to play Georgia.

In the new format you would have an argument over who gets the byes. Georgia Michigan (Clemson/K st/Utah) Tulane would be 12th. Would think that the team who didn't get the bye could at least be the 8 seed and get a home game.

Goat is right on with his analogy. There are teams that would be favored in every sport over someone who did make it all the time.

Anyways, Georgia Michigan would be a good start. Bama could have easily lost 2 other games this season. Tcu could have lost a lot of games. It's hard to say because there is so much time off. I tend to think a team like TCU who overachieved will lose their momentum and I like that Ohio St gets to hit the reset button.
