I heard there's people right now trying to invent a time machine and they came up with the scientific theory that once the machine works they won't be able to go back in time from when they made the machine only to the Future and back when they started the machine

Time travel to the future may be possible within the equations but I believe time travel to the past will contain paradoxes.

Maybe in another dimension there is no time because if you have immortality is there still time? If they create a time machine doesn't that make a immortality a reality

Why would immortality mean there is no time?

Do you think time must come to some kind of end?

Not sure if, mathematically, it's appropriate to ask if there is no time in another dimension, because time is a dimension, but it may be more appropriate, from a string theory perspective, to ask if there could be a universe with no time.

And I think the answer would be no as a universe with no time would mean a universe with no space and then according to the theoretical math based research a universe with no space could be one that existed but collapesed upon itsef, back to a singularity.

In which case, at the singularity, perhaps there would be no time.

And then we have to define a universe and if universe is everything then replace my words "universe" in that last post with "a universe within the multiverse."

If there is a multiverse then some universes "bursting" into existence surely collapsed on themselves while some expanded too much, we landed in one just right to give our kind of life and for the universe itself to spawn something that can turn around and observe the universe.

And that begs the question, was our universe designed to eventually, after about 13.8 billion years, be able to observe itself?

Was it an inevetible product of the laws of physics?

This is where we are in physics today. Since Einstein we have come a long way.

In fact, we know so much about the universe, while still literally knowing so little, that it could be said that universe is observing itself.

"Dark matter" and "dark energy" remain two things that are a big mystery, that we know are there, that we can't interact with, exactly, and that we think make up something like 95% of the universe.

So while we know so much, and we know a ton, going back a long way in time, we still don't know what we think 95% of the universe is made of.

    That's a trip too.

If so, I guess it would be the big bang.

The beginning of the universe, of space-time. Trying to figure out what happened before that may be a needless and perhaps useless question.

Stephen Hawking said something to the effect of imagining you are at the south pole. As time moves forward, you move upward on the globe, toward the middle, in an ever widening and expanding circumference.

To ask what is south of the south pole on the planet earth would be pointless. To ask what came before that moment we started moving forward in time is to ask what is south of the south pole.

Our math can take us back pretty far and that same math predicts, from those first few seconds, what we see today.

    We figure it out.

The universe figured itself out, on so many levels.

    Amazing.
