    2 dead, 6 injured in stabbing on Las Vegas Strip

    UPDATE: Las Vegas police Capt. Dori Koren said officers received multiple 911 calls about a stabbing near Las Vegas Blvd. and Sands Drive at about 11:40 a.m.

    Capt. Koren said officers responded to the scene, and with the help of security partners, were able to take the suspect into custody “very quickly” and were then able to render aide to the multiple victims.


    Capt. Dori Koren said that as of now, there were eight people stabbed and one suspect as part of the incident.


    Of the victims, Capt. Koren says two people have died and three are in critical condition. Police say the remaining victims are in stable condition.


    The weapon that was recovered, according to Capt. Koren, was a “large kitchen knife.”

    Better ban knives. We'll do what they used to do WAY back when in England I think. They would have a station in the town square with a couple cutting boards and they would chain the knives to the station like banks chain their pens. You'd do your business and leave the knife there.

    what i've noticed on the strip (especially vs 10 and 20 yrs ago) is way more blacks, and way more busted escalators

    also there never used to be as many random bums just sleeping on the sidewalk in front of major properties, with their pile of garbage

    20 yrs ago there were way more hispanics (little kids too!) slapping their nudie cards on their hand and then shoving it in front of you... but the strip, and downtown felt a lot safer then

    That I will say, I saw a lot more security around than I saw 5 years ago. All sorts of ERT's and CRT's and whatever RT's. But they can't have full security on every corner everywhere all times. Impossible.

    More bridges and trams, people don't go outside and use escalators as much now.

    that's weird, i have gone to vegas 30+ times in the last 30 yrs... my memory might be bad but until the past few years i can't remember this many people just lying on the street in the middle of the day, and taking up large chunks of real estate on the strip with their blankets and other garbage

    you're pretty much the only person i've talked to that says it isn't worse, it's not as bad as san francisco but 5 yrs ago you would've never seen a syringe on the sidewalk on the strip

    well we invaded afghanistan and took over their poppy fields, resulting in the opiod epidemic

    now we have wide open borders so those druggies are on fentanyl which fukks you up worse... combine that with spending all our government resources on stupid crap (billions of weapons to ukraine, that never get there... trillions of dollars for vaccine propaganda and paying off student debt) instead of helping the most needy

It's not a disease, it's the direct cause of hard drug addiction use and poor diet over time day after day. The mind and body can only take so much damage and abuse before it starts to break down.
