Serious Thread: Posters with Massive losses; What can we learn from their experiences

First it was Dougie with massive losses in tennis + golf [strategy:withdrawing 350 per week]
    then
it was Thawoj with massive losses in casino (blackjack+live baccarat ); [couldn't cashout/withdraw his 40K (had to wait for 1 week)]

It would also be helpful for others if these two posters give us some insights on what went wrong really...besides "tilt"

p.s. don't know if i missed anybody here...add them below...

It's impossible to cash out daily with some books but if you can, do it

When i run up a balance on a local book that pays out weekly, i deposit on a legal book that i can cash out when the penetrate i want and bet there while the other guy settles up

Wait! He lost his $40k before the end of the week for the payout?

Oh wow, just saw his thread. Don’t care what type of gambler you are, the average gambler isn’t going to just have that winning sit and wait for 1 week. That is why books do it in the first place and also a sign they don’t have the funds either.

Anyway, the lesson I took when it happened to me is don’t log back into that account until the payout. Go do something else or have a different book to use.

On the other end with Dougie, which I can’t say it was his mentally, but it is mine when I make his type of deposits. The deposits are by btc atm which you lose 10%-20% or more right off the bat. So when that deposit finally is in the book you’re looking to recoup that 10% loss quickly. And then you end up in a downward spiral of losses. Avoid using btc atm and also outlandish bonuses (just recently I got duped into a 30x r/o for sports).

It is nothing but tilt. All gamblers have problems with bet sizing. There is no way your brain can comprehend the risks you are taking when betting. It is too mathematically complex. The amount you want to bet and the amount you can afford to bet do not match.

There would never be a 40k run on a minimal re-up to begin with if he wasn't a compulsive gambler. Not everyone is looking to waste life grinding to win or lose $100. They are looking for that life changing run which unfortunately in most cases for a compulsive gambler is life changing run to recoup lifetime loses. Problem is greed and nothing is ever enough. 10k becomes 15k becomes 20k becomes 30k becomes 50k becomes 100k. A degen can be a dollar away from 1 million and tilt it all trying to get that 1 million. 5 dimes was a great book with the most options and reduced juice but criminal in their stall tactics on withdrawals.

Why? Besides the huge amounts what sport is better to bet? No Ref/Ump to worry about. Most tournaments now have Hawkeye for line calls. Don't have to worry about some lazy piece of shit missing free throws for your cover or have one relief pitcher f\*\*k up a great game. You just have to cap an individual.

In Doug's case, he's clearly delusional.

His brain tells him that he can pitch an 85mph fastball when in reality he's barely breaking 50mph.

He's lost hundreds of thousands gambling, has to lie and steal to fund the addiction, yet somehow still believes he can make a living as a professional at it.

Even if he could somehow become a +EV bettor, he has absolutely no discipline. The lack of basic bankroll management and risk assessment guarantees failure.

The only upside is that his square money keeps markets liquid enough for others to be successful.

    those 2 do 2 things

first off, doug bets random tennis and that will never win long term then he chases on tilt mode if he knows he can reload another 1-2 times

the other guy told us his problem, he can't stop even when he's hot and eventually loses it somehow or starts it going south in the casino in the middle of the night

if you can't stop yourself from dumb bets when you know you're on tilt

can't stay out of the worthless casino

there is no hope for you

doug should've started doing things differently after his Joker/Barty wins

I had a couple bottles of red last night and ended up betting on Chinese Soccer and got clobbered hard erasing a big winning day and then some.. I was pretty hurt. I woke up and logged into my acct and was like like wtf. Forgot the damage I had done lol. If it’s a weekend and I’ve won some good coin, I usually start boozing. Drunk and confident the winning ride will continue is a dangerous game. Avoid online casinos always, but especially when drunk. I have most disabled, but still a sucker for late night soccer

I think he said he works 65 plus hours a week.
He will sleep 2 hours and wake up wicked early to play before work.
I remember a couple stories he told where he runs it up, falls asleep at 2am to only wake up at 4am and lose it all before leaving for work.

Step up the game guys. I want to do videos but if you're all degens what's the fukkin point?

    Common man.

Who has the stones to make a business out of this?

Online casinos? Fine, crazy stupid, but fine; but not with your sports bankroll, for fuksake.
