Who's laying -423 on Mets with deGrom?

The King of the 2-1, 4 hit loss (that'll be Jacob deGrom) pitches at home at Citi vs. the loveable losers Cubs.

I'm feeling a +350 small action fade myself, no offense to deGrom, when healthy the best starting pitcher in the show today, but his teammates, have a habit of sabotaging any gem Jake may spin.

    Or...
You can parlay with Cole (the other NY team ace), he's a reasonable -150 road bow wow.
That two teamer pays even money (1.06:1)

    Word of advice:
    Please don't.

That’s a crazy number for a team that can’t hit consistently

No one would lay that shit, I usually bet against the Mets when they have these lines just so I am not so pissed when they make a total clown look like deGrom on the other side.

I hammered the Mets -135 the other night (live) down 1-0 in the 2nd with that over-achieving POS Bassett on the hill. Thought I had a great bet as Mets were nearly -300 pre match.Have lost so many times this year betting these lazy bums. Never again.

Good to see nobody took Mets pre game. Are we getting smarter here at SBR? Usually there’s a few knuckleheads that will say it’s “free money” or it’s “impossible” for them to lose.

Anyone following the Mets would know the correct line for this game is around -180 for the game and maybe -210 first 5 innings.

I'd make an adjustment, this is just my opinion, I'm not the be all, end all by any means, I thought deGrom should have been between 220, no higher than -240.

I always try to find value, especially in pick games, this game was hardly a pick game but if I think a game should be no higher than -240. and the books are offering -420/+350, it doesn't take a genius to spot the value.

I do this on both sides, both faves and bow wows, but what I really seek out is the 'pick' games, they're easier for me to disect.

Good luck today fells, enjoy that 3:1 gift we got last night, they rarely come around, but when they do you got to pounce like a jaguar on it.

Annoying, a tad of a blowhard, yep, but dumb, you're correct Coach, never dumb.

Nothing is sticking out today, might take a night off and watch some quality police dramas on the old lookie-loo tonight.
Load up on the SD game tomorrow, there's some mighty tempting prop bets in that game, can't find an angle in any of todays bases. Pass

i would even go and say degrom could have been -280 last night but i am not great with statistics. saying that more as what i expected the line to be. still would not have bet him. but at -400? books are kidding.

i think we are getting smarter Big Joe - evolution lol

Up until a couple of years ago -300 was rare, no less -400

Hell, I remember when I was a young Nasher with a full set of hair and the T-Rex grazed my daddy's back yard for grass Maddux and Pedro in their prime and pitching at home against AAA hamburger lineups would never go higher than -320, now you see -280's all the time with pitchers two levels below those Hall of Famers I just mentioned.

I can't explain it, I can try, and feel free to chime in because I really don't know, the only explanation I can come up with is because of the thousands of new bettors the US books like DK and FD etc. has brought in the line makers are playing the chalk players for fools.

The books will never get hurt on a -400/+300.
They may get stung on a game or two, but in the long run, and this is a long grinder, not a short game (unless you're a spot bettor) you're not going to beat a 25 percent vig.

    400-300=100
    100/400 =1/4 = 25 % vig

Nobody alive, not even Dr. Chalk Eckstein can beat a 25 percent vig and he's the only chalk player that I know of that consistently turns a profit betting MLB favorites.
