    The Bullseye Team is locked and loaded for Week 1 of the SBR Football Contest! Here's who we're riding this weekend:


    Esten McLaren -     Jacksonville Jaguars +3 (-105)

    "    Catching the Jaguars as road dogs with the juice on the Commanders is my lock of the week. Sure, Trevor Lawrence's long-anticipated rookie season didn't go according to plan but we're going to saddle that blame on ex-head coach Urban Meyer until further notice. Washington QB Carson Wentz shouldn't be laying points against anyone, especially in his first meaningful game with his third team in as many years."


    Jon Metler -     Seattle Seahawks +6.5 (-113)

    "Everyone expects Russell Wilson to roll into Seattle and blow out the Seahawks in his first game with the Denver Broncos. As we saw with Tom Brady last season against the New England Patriots, no one knows how to slow down a quarterback better than their old coaching staff. You are getting more points than you should with the Seahawks since everyone is backing the Broncos in light of the Wilson narrative."


    Michael McClymont -     North Carolina Tar Heels -7 (-115)

    "I'm surprised this line is so short. Georgia State is no Appalachian State. Drake Maye and the explosive North Carolina offense should have no trouble running up the score on their Sun Belt opponents."


    Andrew Brennan -     Arizona Cardinals +6 (-110)

    "Chiefs backers could be in for a rude awakening if the new receiver group can’t provide Patrick Mahomes with the same offensive explosiveness he became accustomed to with Tyreek Hill. The Cardinals got off to a red-hot start last season and began 2020 with back-to-back wins, too. Bet on Kyler Murray and Co. while you still can, because the new Call of Duty game comes out at the end of October."


    Sean Tomlinson -     Indianapolis Colts -7 (-110)

    "The Texans remain in a rebuild, while the league's most dynamic running back in Jonathan Taylor powers the Colts' offense. Indianapolis ranked second in rushing yards per game in 2021, and the Texans' defense finished second-last while allowing 142.2 yards per contest on the ground. This game has the makings of a laugher, with Indianapolis sprinting out to a lead before keeping the clock moving steadily."

    Week 1 write-ups are probably the hardest ones to convey especially in NCAAF with all the changes to a roster. NFL much easier to expect a certain outcome, but let’s face it. The percentage of anyones write-ups winning in the fashion that they expect, very low percentage.

    Sometimes I feel like they’re just a complete waste of time. Having said that, you always want to have a certain angle or perspective about a game if you’re going to wager on it, so I get it.
