Cam Smith officially gone to LIV

Biggest domino to fall yet. Niemann is an interesting one too - only 23 years old.

Varner, Leishman, Lahiri & Tringale rounding out the 6 names confirmed for the Boston event this week.

It will never get a TV deal and many Sponsors

It’s horrible competition it’ll be bankrupt in three years

Winning on that tour is totally meaningless

Hard to say. They're definitely trying to go the Formula 1 route where they get rich owners to buy a team from LIV. So a lot of money up front they are dishing out to get these players that they'll get back in the coming years.

I'm not a fan of the format, but definitely causing the PGA Tour to make changes a lot sooner than they had planned for.

How do you blame a guy for taking $100 mil? I know I'd take it.

It is a stupid pet project, once KSM shieks get sick of it, they will stop funding the boondoggle.

I think it's part of an overall PR strategy, along with the NEOM city project, to rehabilitate the reputation of MBS who killed Kasshogi

This is like the USFL vs NFL except in this case, the USFL has the cash advantage; LIV will ultimately win.

Oh can't blame a guy for taking $100 mil. And yeah it's 100% sportswashing. But there definitely is more of a plan than it would seem out of the gate here. That's why they tossed a huge offer to Hideki. If he signed, then a billionaire Japanese owner would buy a team and all of his fans would flock to LIV to follow him.

PGA has underpaid their stars for years in relation to how much revenue they bring in. And it's probably the only sport (maybe tennis) where you can play at the highest level and lose money in a year. So yeah the minimum salary and help with expenses on missed cut weeks that the Tour implemented I'm sure is welcomed by the lower-tier guys.

It’ll never win because it’s a terroristic country they can’t get advertisers or television deals every PGA player that switched lost their endorsement deals already because of a terror country

    Bad business

Tiger and Rory would be dropped by every sponsor if they ever joined

I don't follow golf but why should anyone care about this?

Free market and competition are usually good things...

Ya if it's not on t.v. I can't see it getting off the ground. If they did a LIV versus PGA like a Ryder Cup that would be interesting

Does LIV have a plan to support grass roots golf or pay the journeymen better?

    I'd doubt it.

    What is the payoff?
I heard the players get the LIV Gold (Oil) Mine money upfront and any money
won on the course is offset against the initial payment?

Finally, the PGA tournament format is changing in the player's favor but will it be too late?

95% of you don’t realize that the Saudi’s don’t even care about the financials. They are spending a few billion to change the public perception of them. One giant advertisement. Cheapskate pga tour an unlucky bystander. They are ******. The mass exodus is only going to continue. They don’t pay the players / caddies enough. Even the caddies are living it up 100x better with all their flights, hotels, meals all taken care of unlike the pga wheee you could lose money traveling with your caddy to an event and missing the cut. The LIV guys are guaranteed money even if they put with their rooster and shoot a 107. The PGA model is broken. They need to figure it out asap or they’ll just be left with some of the top guys like tiger, rory, Thomas etc who don’t need the money. I think the PGA will have to bend the knee and unban these guys
