Do you have kids? You don't let them make decisions?

It didn't matter to me whether we stayed in AC or went home as I have said before gambling is not my priority. If it was then I can just stay home and go to PARX any time I want to. For that matter, I also have Rivers and Live! very close too. I almost never go to any one of them.

Perhaps if I explain something else that it would make more sense to some.

When I stay in casinos, my cost is $7.54 per night so it's only $233.74 maximum per month. It used to be only $5.27 per night or $163.37 per month before NJ added on another $2 plus tax per month.

Because we are staying in AC, I cut off my cable TV saving $100+ a month. We use almost no water since we are not home so that's another $50 a month in savings. We don't use utilities like electric and gas and that's another $150 a month in savings. We don't do grocery since most of the food we eat are paid by the comp dollars. That's at least $500 or more per month in savings and probably even more due to high inflation.

So, let me see. I pay $233 per month in AC for the stupid ass mandatory fees which Vegas does not have, but I don't spend $800 that I would if I was home. That's $567 in savings per month. So mathematically, if I don't lose more than $500 a month, I'm ahead. That's a true AP.

The only other expenses are the tips if we eat in restaurants and buffets and they do add up very quickly.

I educated the kids about this so they are aware. Never too early to teach the kids about financial responsibilities.

If we had a better school district, then yes.

We live in a horrible school district and my kids aren't learning anything. How do I know that? They had a different online classes temporarily before the current Cyber school when the Pandemic hit and my kids told me that they don't understand anything even though the material they are viewing was supposed to be at their class level. That meant the stupid ass school district wasn't teaching anything and they panicked and cancel that online class company because too many parents were complaining that their kids just don't get it. I looked at the class materials and to me they were nothing and very simple, so our school district basically was teaching nothing to bring the kids along to the level they should be in.

I wasn't very happy to say the least.

Please see my post on #20 where a teacher admitted to me that my kids are actually learning much more doing the Cyber classes, and she probably get fired if the school knew she said that.

That's the problem with this country today. They are just creating mindless population by these shitty schools.

Where do you do your laundry?

I was going to answer that sooner, but I was replying in the order of the posts so I'm just getting to this now.

My wife goes home every week to work near our home as she is a CNA and she works in a nursing home. She works the double shifts over the weekends and she stays with us during the weekdays.

She takes the laundry home to wash and brings them right back the next time she comes back to AC.

It does sound like a great life maybe for a few years for an adult. How old are your kids?

I had to the situation with the school district in my area. My son has been in private all his school life because of this. Not sure switching over to online school would have been my choice because the real life interaction with kids his age is critical in growth.

That's my two cents. Carry on and do what's best for you and your family.

My girls are 10 and 11. We do have a private school near us, but the tuition is over 10K per kid which meant I would have to fork over 20K when I'm already paying over 11K for the property tax. That's whopping 31K for only elementary school.

We plan on moving but we just don't know when yet as it won't be easy with what's going on with the housing market not to mention the rising mortgage rates.

Me and my wife talk about our kids missing the physical interaction with the other kids, but we didn't see any problems when they played with their cousins for almost 2 weeks.

She plans on going to her home country Philippines next summer for 2 months and they have a TON of kids at our kids' age group, so my kids will have a plenty of interaction then. My kids are very friendly so making new friends shouldn't be a problem.

They have very close online friends and I even offered one of the friend's family to get them the free hotel for a week on the beach and some food, but they couldn't travel because they are in Newfoundland and the flight cost was just too much.

Instead of staying in AC, I stay at home with the kids. They are doing the Cyber class, so no interaction with the other kids.

There are no other kids in my neighborhood except two kids down the block but that family is busy running around every freaking day that they are almost never home.

Before the Pandemic, my wife took my kids to a piano lesson for a whole year, so now they know how to play some keyboards.

What's that thing called play date or something? My kids are too old for that.

We thought about sending them to Karate classes but my kids aren't interested. I am not going to make my kids do something they don't want to do.

So, what else? Go to park? They have parks here.

We took them to a local library to get books so they can read.

What else? I don't know how many of you are parents, but I can tell some are for sure. Others, if you are a true degenerate gambler, then your partner already left you. My wife hasn't left me, so does that mean I am not a degenerate gambler? She tells me that she loves me everyday, so I must be doing something right.

I am an IT professional and my wife is a CNA. Between me and my wife, we make almost 200K a year but the taxes kill us.

I don't make anything out of casino gambling as I'm probably breaking even at best, so as long as I don't lose I'm ahead because of the savings staying in casinos as to staying at home. Unless I decide to do the card counting for blackjack, I probably won't win consistently in casinos. I used to win a decent amount playing blackjack but when the automatic shuffling machines came around, that went out the door.

I do make a decent amount betting on sports doing my own capping on football and tailing JayDr3am's picks. I owe him a lot to be honest.

People talk about how bad AC is and that, but do you really think my kids walk around the streets? They go swimming at 3 different indoor pools, go to the beach a lot, walk on the boardwalk because they are gaining weight, and play at an arcade. They don't go out running around at night in the streets, so if things are really bad in AC, then they don't get to see any of it. I do drive around the town at night to move around between the casinos and I don't see what people are talking about that it's bad in AC. Perhaps if I went further into the city away from the casinos then maybe, but why would I? Look for hookers? Why, so I can get disease? No thanks.

They love their own rooms at home especially because they have a big curved gaming monitors. I offered to them to bring them to AC and they said no because they don't need it. What's the difference between their rooms as to a very nice hotel room? A bit smaller but they have a plenty of space, but they said they don't have a bug in the hotel rooms. They are little girls and we had a tiny spider once and they freaked out and they are constantly busy looking around to see if there are more in their rooms. This was when we went home for a couple of days not that long ago because I had fix something for my wife at home.

The cyber school is called EdOptions Academy and it's all on-line with real teachers. It's run in conjunction with our school district and from what I can tell, my kids are definitely learning for sure because some of the stuff I see I don't even remember learning when I was in elementary school and they aren't easy.

I have only seen the tax returns on one person who earns an income from casino games and he did pay taxes on those earnings.

I know of an AP and he wins only about mid to high 5 figures a year playing blackjack but he has 18 years of winning streak. He claims that he pay taxes on his winnings and I can only believe what he says, and if you read a lot of his posts then you can tell he's pretty genuine and he is sharp as hell for sure.

He is a bit paranoid though and I can understand why as he's been banned from casinos before for winning too much.

He tells me that Borgata pit bosses have a card that says $50 max and he is flashed with that card when he shows up to play there. I didn't even know they had a such thing and I would like to see it. Something you should know. She gets spending cash from my winnings whenever she comes here and she loves to shop at the Factory Outlet stores here in AC. She likes not having to cook much when she is here. She doesn't have to clean up since we aren't home as the housekeeping is all free minus some tips.

Even for her, she likes it. What adult wouldn't like to stay in a casino hotels? I just have to prevent her from gambling too much and she hasn't which is good.

You see, my kids had their own iPads at 2 and their own laptops at 4. They are computer whiz. I've worked with the computers all my life and worked as a programmer. They know things I didn't even know like letting your browser read the contents to you. How many of you knew that you can have your browser read the texts to you? If most of you knew already, then I'm way behind with the technology.

They are also amazing playing games. They got a ton of friends online and they are always busy yapping and playing games with their friends. I don't know how they don't get bored doing the same crap everyday but they are just glued to their laptops and iPads.

Actually, the rooms are comped and therefore it's $0.00 cost to me.

It's the state and city fees that they charge to EVERYONE that add up to $7.54 per night. They don't have this crap in Vegas, so if I was in Vegas, I would pay NOTHING.

The resort fees are something different and they are quite high in some hotels, but I don't pay them because I'm high enough level player at all of the casinos except Ocean and Golden Nugget.

Bally's, Borgata, Caesars, Hard Rock, and Harrah's all waive resort fees if you are high enough level players, so those are the only hotels I stay. Why would I want to pay $25 to $30 per night at Ocean and Golden Nugget in resort fees? They add up to quite a bit monthly.

Around the clock room service and cleaning would be nice. If the Hotel and Casino has a nice gym and activities for kids that would be nice as well. Would have to be a top floor King suite with multiple rooms connected. Big screen TV'S, jacuzzi tubs, views, etc. All paid for and comp'd of course.

Sports book $100,000 grand a month constant comp and all hotel restaurants would have to offer free no in line waiting and paid for eating always. Big outdoor pool needed as well with private space reserved daily with beach chairs. Kids need to learn so in house home hotel teacher provided daily.

Would all be tempting if that was all included!

If it's like that, then I would never leave the casino hotels even if my kids wanted to go home.

But honestly, at Borgata, if I get rooms on weekdays instead of weekends, then I can get Fiore suites and they are huge and very nice.

Borgata has two huge outdoor pools, but they are only good for 2.5 months a year.

All other perks I could get if I was winning huge which I am not.

However, I ran across someone who won 700K in 6 months playing baccarat. He was gong to tell me his secret but now he is balking, so I don't know what's going on.

Either he is trying to protect me because the secret is failing or he is too busy winning in the casino and therefore he has no time to email me the secret which apparently is very complicated.

But, I will bet there is at least one family getting all of that somewhere.

Funny but it's not up to me. With my wife, she will kill the kids first before it ever happens.

You can guide your kids to be successful, but can't stop them from doing what they want to do.

I already see that my older daughter could have trouble with her future as she has no ambitions and she just wants to play as she is just a little kid at heart and lazy just like her mother. The younger one is totally different and I don't think I have to worry about her, so I always tell the little one that when I'm gone please make sure to take care of her older sister.

I tell my older one since she is so good at gaming and playing on her computer that maybe she should just become a gamer or programmer like my nephew. I think she can make it.

As a matter of fact, my girls teamed up and try to win the gaming tournament for Fortnite and they actually almost made to the final tournament. When they found out that they weren't old enough to qualify, they gave up and lost. I think the winner made something like $3 million.

I think my older girl can do it if she focused but that's not what I want her to do for her future. Programming for Google, possibly. AP, maybe.

To answer your question, I would never live in a hotel or casino for longer than absolutely necessary. I wouldn't let my kids live in a hotel or a casino other than a week or two on a vacation. Kids need to be around other kids being physically active and learning how to socialize. Roblox and Minecraft are fun ways to communicate after school but are not a substitute for real life interaction. How do you think they are going to do when they go to college? The good news is that they will likely be part of a generation of socially awkward introverts. GRIND THOSE COMPS!! FOY!!

You could be right and I do see what you are saying about socialization. Personally, I don't care much for socialization as I don't use any of the social media apps and I prevent my kids from doing it as well. My wife is busy as hell with Facebook and I don't see the point of it all but just wasted time.

I'm perfectly fine with how my life is and not dealing with people, but my wife is totally the opposite.

As for my kids, they are both very friendly and when they met their cousins for the first time, they were just happy and goofing around just like any little kids and they played together without any problems.

Would they have problems in the future? I have no clue. I just don't see how they could have problems in the future associating with others just because they haven't for a period of time. Maybe I'm not seeing something obvious but I will have to see.

The girls went to a field trip for the Cyber class kids only and they had a ball playing with the other kids and there was absolutely no awkwardness at all. That was just this last May.

In the end, I think people are making too big of deal about this socialization thing, but that's just my opinion.
