And unlike red/black or odd/even, at least you have an upside chance at one of the big payout hits instead of being only guaranteed a 1/1 payout every time. I have personally seen the ball land on 1 to 24 like ten times in a row and then the zero would hit. I remembered specifically walking through Bally's in Las Vegas in 2010 and seeing a roulette wheel history where 0 or 00 hit 7 times out of the last 15 spins, and I thought to myself, wow, the zero strategy would crush that wheel. But yeah, not profitable long term. It could be awesome though short term for just a few spins if you have a lucky burst of good fortune. I suppose you could even lower the 1st 12 and 2nd 12 bets to 1.5 units or even 1.25 units so you lose less if it hits #25-36 but still win a little bit if it hits #1-24.
I came up with this theory in my 20's since I went to UNLV for my college days and my friends and I would spend countless hours thinking about casino game strategies while we were in the dorms, lol. We would then experiment at the Hard Rock Hotel which was just walking distance from our dorm rooms. Those were such fun times. We all knew how to count cards in blackjack, play poker, etc, it was a lot of fun. They had 8 deck shoes in blackjack. Their poker room was really nice but no one really played there. I played in one daily tournament there. There was only 8 people who showed up, $50 buy-in. 2 places paid, $210 for 1st and $140 for 2nd. I won it by completely sucking out on a guy when we were heads-up who had KK and I hit a gut shot straight draw on the river and he called my all-on shove, lol. I said sorry man and he looked at me and smiled (he was wearing a cowboy hat with sunglasses on) and said, nah no need to be sorry, you had a nice hand, good game. Sorry, I'm getting all nostalgic here, hehehe, sorry for ranting.
By the way, not sure if this is still in existence because the restaurant and the deal may not even exist anymore, but at the restaurant there (it was called Lucky's Cafe I believe) at the Hard Rock Hotel, ask for the 777 special. During my UNLV days, if you asked for the 777 special you got this badass surf and turf meal that was probably like a $40 meal for only $7.77. Only the locals knew about it and it was a secret menu item. My friends and I ate that all the time because it was so cheap and an awesome meal. You got a nice cut of steak, grilled shrimp scampi on skewers, a baked potato and a caesar salad for an appetizer for 7 bucks! It was unreal, lol. Check that out next time if you are around the Hard Rock if you end up going to the WSOP 2024 mixer that you might be planning. Not sure if it's still there though but worth checking out.
