Hey, I have a good sports trivia question for you all.

    Nothing tricky.

What's the largest US market NOT to have a big four professional sports team?

By big four I mean NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL
    US market, meaning just that.

    You can rule out:

    NYC/Meadowlands market
    LA market
    SF/Oak/Bay area market.
    Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth
    etc.

So, what is the largest US (Canada excluded) market not to have a professional team.

I found the most recent demo's.
It's still Hartford, but that New Haven (where my office is) Hartford Ct. region moved up to #32

The Whale had a following, almost like a cult following.
Who didn't love the Whale, the old Hartford Civic Arena, they also played some games at the Big E Coliseum (Big E is a huge grocery chain up here) and some home games at the old Boston Garden too.

    Largest population without a team
The largest television market area with no teams in the four major leagues is the Hartford & New Haven (Connecticut) area. Hartford was formerly home to the NHL's Hartford Whalers, who moved to Raleigh in 1997 and are now the Carolina Hurricanes.

It has to be H-Town! We are 4th in population but 11th or 11th biggest media market.

Yup, I remember some great games between my Bruins and your Whalers... Ron Francis, Kevin Dineen...
