Doesn't make them all that much better. Something about that team just isn't right

Exactly. How often do prospects turnout to be Soto caliber? Prospects are so god damn overrated in MLB it’s not even funny.

Maybe. But to say they got nothing is silly. On paper, the biggest prospect haul ever. Time will tell.

Obviously Nats had to either sign him or trade him. Nats are not a factor near-term.

This was the best prospect haul they could get. Good deal for both.

Not sure we even call Gore a prospect anymore. Not dominant yet, but was pretty solid before injury. He will only get better.

And there have been many many prospect trades that work out. Pretty sure the Cubs regret trading Dylan Cease and Eloy Jimenez for Jose Quintana.

agree, carrasco is going to fade. scherzer will be strong, but the mets also need help in their pen. walker could go down to injury anytime and bassitt? he does little to impress for october

that would be big deal. contreras can also DH for them, and robertson helps solve their pen problems

Baseball loves to glorify a previous season or a couple years ago great year and think that’s gonna happen every year it doesn’t

Especially after getting rid of our best players for pennies on the dollar for most of my lifetime...these last few years have been pretty surreal being a serious player for a lot of bigtime talent.

Now with very good solid pitiching, arguably the best closer in baseball and a murderer's row of Machado, Soto and Tatis....things should get real interesting the next few years

he sure was. but now on a pitch count limit, and an undisclosed innings limit. only made 15 starts last year, and will be interesting to see how his pitching shoulder holds up

I think, as depicted in Staker's post # 19, that they surpassed the Braves in futures.

I though they might have leap-frogged over the Mets too, but DeGrom's recovery might be the reason the Mets held their position.

Think they will if Tatis returns...................

Looks like Padres dumped Hosmer on the Red Sox...thank God for that, happy to get rid of him!!

Probably had to eat most of the remaining contract but addition by subtraction, hosmer is a fooking entitled bum. Guy has been butthurt to be in trade rumors the past few years but guess what? If you had been producing, you'd still be around!! Look in the mirror and good riddance, clown!
