Should know this but I can't remember.

What position did Benintendi play for the Sox? BG you remember that?

Does he move into the outfield to take the fading "Crazy Joey Gallo's" place.

i think he plays left field

i like that they got someone that can hit for average. something they desperately need.

It looks like the Yankees didn't give up a lot for the rental. IMO Benintendi might be a really good fit for New York because as a lefty contact hitter he'll benefit from their short RF more than a lot of other players.

bombers trying to trade gallo, but that may wait until the very end as teams pursue soto. Their next target is reds ace: Castillo

you make a great point, only gave up #19, #21, and some kid not in their top 30. Yankees have plenty of prospects left to land Castillo

Yup. If they can’t trade him? he won’t be getting many AB’s

Gallo has been a total waste. Judge has more home runs than Gallo has hits I think.

    Who would want Gallo?
He's a minus defender in the outfield, who barely hits .200, horrible OBA, and strikes out 200 times a year.
He's a 30 HR guy, half of them solo shots, off a pitcher that usually has a 7-2 lead or something, figuring "if he hits one out it's probably better than walking him, and chances are he'll whiff before parking one, so I'll just groove a strike"

Definitely will be tough to dump him. but he is a free agent this off-season, so won’t cost much in return. and with so many teams thinking they have a shot at one of the 3 wild cards? Could see a desperate team take a shot on gallo
then again Judge has 39 homers, gallo has 37 hits
