    Baltimore preseason record

I remember someone here last year posted something about Baltimore's preseason record was extremely good in last 3 years or something. I jumped on the last 2 of their games and cashed. Anyone remember what it was? Good luck if you're degening.

The Ravens have won 17 straight preseason games
OWINGS MILLS, Md. — The Ravens have not lost a preseason game since 2015, posting an impressive 20-0 record dating back to 2016.
The 20 straight wins mark the longest streak in NFL preseason history, surpassing Green Bay’s 19 from 1959 to 1962.
“I think since I’ve been here in 2017, we haven’t lost a game in preseason," fullback Pat Ricard said. "So, it’s been five-plus years – and I hope we keep it going. I don’t even want to talk about it, because I don’t want anything to happen. I think it’s a really cool streak. I think it just proves the depth we have here, the type of scouting and the draft that the front office has.
"It just shows that we’re always a ready team when it comes to preseason. We’ve had a five-plus … I don’t even know … Maybe six, seven, eight, nine, 10 years – I don’t even know how long [or] how many games we’ve won. But, it’s pretty impressive.”

Polo, perception vs reality. Surely, the early move was sharp action. Who else is betting that far out for a preseason game?

Self-fulfilling prophecy that # would rise in line w/ early action. People read that 20-0 stat and cling to it.

I think the dip back from -4.5 to -3.5 was tied JohnH announcing that Lamar would not play at QB. Ergo, any backing Ravens is laying > FG without top QB playing.

i didn't even realize it hit -4.5 at some point.

    found this interesting as well:

Under Harbaugh, the Ravens are 10-4 ATS in Week 1, and he’s the most profitable coach in Week 1 in Bet Labs (since 2005). Not only that, but also when Harbaugh has 10+ days to prepare, he is 22-8 SU and 17-11-2 ATS as well.
Amazingly enough, Baltimore has stayed relatively consistent in its 20 consecutive preseason wins. The Ravens are 14-6 (70%) against the first half spread, covering the first half spread by 6.3 PPG. They are also 15-4-1 against the second half spread, covering the second half spread by 6.6 PPG.

Polo, don't drive yourself crazy w/ this junk. I actually agree post #6.

Remember what I said about Pre-season. You need to be ahead of the curve.

If you're betting in line w/ the current info, you're just pissing into the wind. Have to be betting with an edge. IE, you need to beat the Closing Line that goes to post.

The -4.5 to -3.5 resistance is very telling. People know that even 20-0 trend doesn't ensure ATS success here.

If it isn't a free play from the book I won't usually bet a preseason game.
Sometimes, rarely, I'll bet the final week of preseason leading up to Week One, but unless you have privy to information inside the teams coaching staff and such, you really don't know who's starting who's not, who's going to get an extended run, blah, blah, blah.

If you don't really know what's going on in training camp, betting preseason is pretty much a guess for 99% of us.

Not only have they won their last 20 preseason games, but they were 18-1-1 ATS in those games.

Be careful, though. The Ravens are making adjustments during training camp this year due to all the injuries they experienced last season. So, that may equate to less playing time for starters in preseason, as well as less of an emphasis on winning preseason games.

    Just FYI, that's all...

it's not about starters, it's more like coaching culture, harbaugh and staff prepare the scrubs to beat the other team. Plus the qb and their system get a lot of broken plays for big chunks of yards

easiest $25 dollar bet i ever had. i should have added 2 zeroes to my bet.

the ravens want to keep the streak going while the other team does not care. perfect scenario.

    thanks roscoe

i got scared by the what if's so only threw $25. i also do not like betting pre-season. i really should have put $100 minimum cause you see the players are fully aware of it and like the streak. next game have to see what the line is.

Polo, no offense. I've been reading your posts since you've returned.

Gambling is not the place to find Religion. Sports-betting is a brutal reality of mathematics.

VERY HARD to beat the house. I mean, very hard. I don't kid myself, I don't see a way to extract an edge vs the modern line.

I'm not going to try to soothe my ego. Been a while since I could call myself a "winner." Have moved on to (bigger and better) things.
