5Dimes Tony killers get 515 years prison

The saga of the 2018 kidnapping-turned-murder of William Sean Creighton, founder of the 5Dimes sportsbook, is coming to a close. On Friday, a Costa Rica court handed down sentences to the nine perpetrators, among whom are two police officers.

The Criminal Court of the city of Goicoechea sentenced nine members of a gang that orchestrated the kidnapping of the American entrepreneur to a total of 515 years in prison. A tenth person was originally implicated, as well, but acquitted as the case made its way to court.

Creighton, known as Tony in the sports betting circles, remained missing even after the ransom was paid. His body was found the following year in a cemetery in the city of Quepos.

    Lifetime Sentences

The judge convicted the criminals of kidnapping, extortion, aggravated robbery and illicit association. The leader of the organization, identified by his last names of Morales Vega, received a 65-year sentence.

His girlfriend, surnamed Solís Chaves, his mother, an uncle, his grandmother, a teacher, and another man received similar sentences. A traffic police officer received a sentence of 35 years. Another officer is going away for 25 years.

Another of the defendants in this case, Kenny Jerry Ford Dowman, had an abbreviated trial and accepted the charges this past February. For his involvement, he received a sentence of 33 years in prison.

i was looking and couldn't find the actual court case anywhere, or any mention of it other than that article

seems weird to me that murder trials would be in a municipal (city) court, maybe the mean the canton of goicoechea but that is still confusing to me

If true they are heroes. Guy was an absolute f**** prick. I don’t believe a word of any of it, I feel he was just tying to avoid extradition but I could be totally wrong. Coward couldn’t even go by his real name. Gotta find a way to get some money on these heroes’ books. They deserve the highest level of commissary.

A high % of them are stupid. There are also the ones the don’t give a f***. There is also a substantial amount of unsolved homicides that will remain that way.

In 2018 I’m willing to bet 95% of this forum thought bitcoin was anonymous too , but yes the criminals were dumb. 30 years in a Costa Rican prison? No thanks. That is worse than death. You can say what you want about Tony but he revolutionized offshore sports betting.

    515 years that's all?

With good prison behavior they will all probably get out in 15 years with the soft legal justice systems we see today.

10-11 years ago he did everything he could to not payout via bitcoin, just wanted you to deposit that way. Wish I would have paid better attention to that.

Also, those convicts are in deep doodoo since they eventually will have to meet their maker and Tony is God.

Even if they're brilliant, there's no such thing as a perfect crime and would have been nabbed anyway.

I never dealt with him but i have heard so many stories on here of him just being a complete A-hole as soon as the original story broke the first thing i thought of was someone he screwed over hunted him down and killed him. Some of the people had legit complaints and owed money sometimes life changing and not only does he not want to pay them he always almost every time would degrade them . Hard to feel sorry for someone like that .

Sad....and to think I was chatting with Tony back in the days when I had issues on my account.

What was the cause of death? Anybody know?

I had 3 chat conversations with him lifetime. If you treat him with respect... he treated you with respect. If he felt like you were wasting his time.... pulling a fast one... he ran you into the ground. All 3 times he corrected the issue and never once got smart with me. (grading wager issues).

Yes a few people said that too. But i remember several players being respectful to him and he just went after them. I could not believe it because i felt bad for the players . I mean i was beyond pissed and wanted to kill the a-hole that ripped me out of $3500 at a book. So i can imagine if someone won something like $50000 and if they make that in a year that can be life changing for them. And he would just tear them apart. But yes there were some that i did think cheated and he had every right to do that to them .

even if limits were puny, you could rebet a ton of times... sometimes i had 10 or 20 bets on the same thing for $12.50
