    So salt goes on afterwards? What about when you are doing a marinate, usually those things already have some kind of salt in them

    As soon as I read remove 95% of the fat and cook medium well I was gonna ask old man if he was making jerky or steak.

    Only time I ever use steak sauce is if the steak has sat in the fridge too long before cooking and I want to remove that “day-old taste” from the steak.

    I’ve probably bought a bottle of steak sauce 2 times in my whole life.

    Salt and pepper is all you need for a fine steak.

    Im in vegas by my self for one day,i had my in n out fix not a steak i will never go to a restaurant by myself like some loser.So im missing out on my fav steak place Circus Circus steakhouse!

    Because you should never marinate a filet mignon. That's just crazy.
    Just make sure the steak is room temp, pat dry, S&P, and cook it over very high heat 2-3 minutes per side. Either baste or finish in the oven.

    If it's a flank or hanger or something like that, then sure.

    I do this ~3 min a side (about a minute less than your desired doneness) then tent it in foil for about 5-7 min to allow the juices to redistribute and cook a little longer. I am very generous with the s&p. I wouldn't feed an OldBill steak to my dog. He's flat out wrong about the salt part and med-well, gross.
