A little out of left field, but...

Paul Schrader's screenplay is even better than the movie. If you can get a copy cheap, then read it.

For obvious reasons screenplays are almost never as good as a finished film, but this is an exception.

Uber Driver. That will be a great remake of that movie with current events. There were a lot of crimes commited by drivers or passengers lately.

Didn't an Uber driver go on a shooting spree a couple years ago?

Yes. When I went back and watched it, surprising how graphic it was.

I love the opening scene. Watch how much stench that scene exhibits.

Moonlighting was my favorite 80's show.

We used to wonder every week, is David going to do Maddie this week?

We only loved that stuff because it was on TV and the alternative was $10/night VHS rentals.

Plus, we never knew how good it was when we all had to wait to watch a new show together, and water cooler talk was a thing.

But yeah, I tuned in hoping Bruce would smash Cybill each week too.

Fantastic opening scene. I wrote a paper in college just on the opening scene for like a film appreciation class.

Nice post, hoop. Yes, the writing was so good. The visuals in the first five minutes told you that this movie was going to be rough.

And the opening exchange between Deniro and the taxi clerk was perfect. Funny, I identify the other guy as Willy Ciccy in "Godfather" and Rock's boss in "Rocky".
