I've been a gambler for about 17 years now. I've been a winning gambler, if I'm being honest with myself and everyone else, probably for only about the last 5 (and for a couple of those years, it wasn't even that much). But I'll be god damned if I spent 12 years just to make a single dollar to give even so much as a nickel to the fukking government for my trouble, my risk, my heartbreaks, wins and losses, or my time. There are more than one of us. Offshore ain't going anywhere. Legal gambling will make more money, for sure. But the first guy who gets a big hit and has to pay taxes? He'll be back.

Yes you can use local bitcoins, but good luck on moving major money through that. Getting 20,000 out of offshore is going to be a nightmare
Every state that legalizes has the offshore losing more of their best clients. Why are the super squares going to buy bitcoin and wait a week when they can paypal it to fanduel in a minute. Eventually 48 states will have it legal.
The US facing offshores are either going to close or stop taking Americans. Might be a matter of a few years.

If I still had offshore money, I would be pretty cautious about keeping balances.
Huh? You could move 20,000 from offshore to a crypto wallet and move that to Fanduel and cash out. You can cash from your wallet many ways that don't involve a financial institution. But you can easily move it to a financial institution if you like anyway. What is coinbase going to do if I deposit 20,000 in BTC into their wallet?... Nothing. You guys are funny.

With you on that. If California votes for it, which I donít think will win, Iím not going pay 50% tax/fee to gamble.

In a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, AGA CEO Bill Miller said the expansion of legal sports betting opportunities has cut into the illegal market’s business, but not enough.

Miller cited research conducted by the Washington, D.C., trade organization that showed 74 percent of sports gamblers believed it was important to only wager with legal providers. However, 52 percent continued to patronize illegal bookmakers. Most of the sports bettors – 63 percent – told researchers they were surprised to learn the sites they were using were unregulated and illegal sportsbooks.

“The availability of these illegal sites is driving confusion,” Miller wrote in the letter.

He said nationwide internet searches for offshore sportsbook brands increased 38 percent last year, which was “faster than the search growth for legal U.S. operators.” He added that searches for offshore brands represented a majority of all sportsbook searches. Bovada, for example, accounted for 50 percent of all searches.

The AGA found support for its effort from a DraftKings executive — Griffin Finan, vice president of government affairs — who said the Boston-based company has long maintained that “eradicating the illegal market and bringing customers onto a legal, regulated platform must be a top priority for the industry.”
Finan said without legal sports wagering, “customers are left unprotected but states are also losing out on significant tax dollars.”

Miller said the Justice Department needs to “make it a priority” to crack down on the illegal sports betting market to protect a legal gaming industry that has an annual economic impact of $261 billion nationwide and supports more than 1.8 million jobs.

If you read deeper into the article.... I feel the MAIN POINT was... 52% of said gamblers are still wagering offshore. Who's to say the data is accurate? But that just shows you in theory... if 50% are still wagering offshore... you aren't ever going to completely shut it down. And in my opinion... out of those 52%.... are your HEAVY HITTERS. Professionals. Good luck trying to stop it. It's not happening. These certified gaming experts just now figured this out? lol You need a degree in figuring out "street smarts"? lol There's no REAL advantage in wagering in a regulated STATE at this time... ZERO.

    Yes moneyshot.

If they knock professionals out of offshore, we will just find our way back in.

Just like every other book out there. Problem is when some books play whack a mole with sharps, they start disproportionately adjusting lines, putting those sharps on the sideline.

But the big guys will tolerate our play.

Some in the US won’t tolerate our play onshore or off.

Betting becoming legalized and some bettors can’t get down anywhere.

Where are the sharp bookmakers! Why won’t they come out and play? They have a window of vig with so much room for error.

And I really don't know why AGA is even running their mouth? Some executive from DraftKings admitted... We Don't Want The Professional Player! We want the Rec bettor. It's funny that these bitches can't even get their story straight. Offshore isn't shutting down. All they could possibly do is threaten with a criminal crime if "the end user" wagers offshore. That would be the only step left to do.
