That never crossed my mind as I don't think about that stuff and it's probably because I don't have to worry about money.
I practically lived in the casino hotels for the past 1.5 years since the casinos reopened in Atlantic City after they were closed for a few months because of the pandemic. I probably go home maybe once a month to check on the house.
I don't know anyone who stays in the casinos for 1.5 years and don't end up losing a house. Thankfully I haven't yet. I'm a grinder, so I don't lose big or win big, but I manage to grind out some type of winning week after week.
This past whole week was a nightmare as everyday that I played, I would never go up but start going down first. I had to grind for hours to break even and then make a little and quit. Just today, I played 8 hours of pai gow tiles even after the dealer I knew for 30 years warned me that he's running hot and I was down probably $500 at the lowest point, but I managed to recover them all and made a few bucks so I quit. I pretty much always bet for the dealers, so they always make more than I do.
The other players I played with lost 1K and 3K each since they were betting $100+ every round.
For the week, I managed to win about $1,200, but the total I was down was well over several thousands.
I'm getting free hotel rooms, comped food, free giveaways, so as long as I don't lose, it's something to do.
