i wonder when australia will give up and admit covid is here to stay and having over 80% of the population take 4 covid vaccines a year is an unrealistic long term goal.

Man people think the pandemic will end or be very controlled by the end of the year or early next year so does that mean we are basically going to close off most of Africa and other developing countries that no one has an interest in vaccinating while others have received 6 booster shots?

The Australian Government has now released two separate letters they sent to Tennis Australia back in November warning them that previously having Covid (Novak's reasoning for trying to get into the country) is not a valid excuse to enter Australia. The whole debate at that point was whether Tennis Australia would allow unvaxxed players to enter tourneys. That's the only "exemption" he ever got... Tennis Australia telling him he could play despite being unvaccinated and this was after they at least twice checked to see if having Covid within the past six months was ok with the government and each time they were told no. And obviously they have no authority who enters the country.

I don't really like Djokovic but even if this was Federer I'd have the same feelings. You travel the world with a large entourage who handle things for you. Melbourne has had almost two years of restrictions with the longest lock down in the world, people not allowed to attend their funerals for family members or see those in pallative care before they passed, couldn't witness the birth of their baby, have been fired for not getting double vaxxed, have been fired for not getting single vaxxed, can't go visit elderly parents, etc.

you are not the best in the world either. you have almost 9x the deaths and cases per capita compared to new zealand. if you think giving up freedom for safety is good then you should start arresting ppl for smuggling kfc too.
