0-3 in the Bowls for the SEC they said

While I said, the only 2 that mattered were today. Two boat race games. Rematch2.0

If we ever see an 8 or 12 team playoff, the results will be very different,--guarantee it...

Even with a playoff I think we'd still see Bama and UGA this year. They were clearly the 2 best teams in football. Clemson and TAM are really the only other teams that had a notch slightly below/ comparable talent but the QBs were a mess. You were not upsetting these 2 teams at a neutral site. Maybe on the road at night like TAM did and Auburn almost did.

Both these teams are built the same. crazy talent in the trenches. Both had some pretty bad injuries but they have a lot of depth. A team like Ole Miss could upset them in a one game scenario but very difficult for them to win 2, 3, 4 games in a row.

a lot of people left GA for dead when Bama boatraced them.

let's see if they can hold on to win here and secure the rematch.

I think they were the two best teams for sure, but when you don't have a month to prepare and it is more of just a win and advance format, you will get more evening out of games. Michigan is making a ton of individual mistakes because the build-up and the moment was just too much for them. If Michigan had a first round game against Baylor, let's say, they would have knocked a lot of this rust off...

Give Saban a month, give Saban a week. My money would still be on Saban. Maybe Kirby as he's not as proven but you don't have to do much when you have that level talent. These teams, especially UGA took care of business every week in the regular season. No reason to think some lower level team would upset them in a playoff game. This UGA defense was one of the best ones ever until Bama exposed them. They're still damn good and Bama's the only team I saw this year that could expose them like that. Can they do it again undermanned? I'm not so sure.

Bama and Georgia can name their own score.

The only reason they didn't unload more is because they will play each other again.

Look at the size of Bamas and Georgia defense. These guys can start in any NFL team on Sunday.

Georgia's front 7 on defense are all NFL ready. That is unheard of. The offense has to go up against them in practice. The toughest games they face are in practice. Both teams just manhandled their opponents in the trenches. This UM team manhandled OSU and they are getting pushed around like kids.

Is it all Saban? How long would it take Bama to erode into an average team?

It will not change anytime soon. The best players in HS are from the Southeast. So the SEC gets the biggest and fastest players.

SEC ended up going 5-5 in bowls. The league was definitely top heavy this season though as most of the teams that lost were middle tier to bottom tier SEC teams. The fact is there are too many bowl games and 13 out of 14 SEC schools got into the postseason. If we ever see an expanded playoff system in college football there is a good chance you'll see SEC schools playing each other in the games that matter.

Look at Florida. They were dog shit this year... but they were a few minutes away from beating Bama and if you take away the last 2 minutes of the UGA game, they were pretty much even with them too. Same could be said about Auburn, Texas AM, Kentucky, etc. The SEC recruits at a higher level than any other conference. It's not really close. You increase the playoffs, you just increase more SEC teams playing.

You're exactly right. Kentucky has a top 10 recruiting class next year but they're behind a few of the SEC powerhouses in recruiting next year which is always the case because the Bama's and Georgia's of the world get whoever they want. All expanding the playoffs will do is increase the number of blowouts and SEC schools making the playoffs.
