The games will be Michigan vs Georgia and Alabama vs Cincinnati. The fact that they will avoid a rematch makes it obvious. Amazingly something that was very muddled pretty much the whole year is crystal clear on the last day. They could go Michigan bama cincy Georgia i suppose, but it really doesn’t matter.

I believe the market will install GA as the favorite over Michigan.

But at this point, w this caliber talent on the field, funny thind happen.

Ck out these underdogs in champ games:

    1998 tenn over florida state
    2000 okla over florida state
    2002 ohio state over miami
    2003 lsu over okla
    2005 texas over usc
    2006 fla over ohio state
2014 ohio state over bama in semis of playoff
    2018 clemson over bama

    Catch my drift?

These were all betting dogs of +4 or more at kickoff.

I don't know Michigans win over the toughest Iowa team of all time was impressive. I mean didn't you see the Iowa QBs carving up the defense for 2 yard pass after 2 yard pass? They were killing the plan. Both QBs were 40 for 42 for 54 yards tonight. They went off.

The second the line comes out hammer the other team. Big 10 is clown show. If that is what a champion in the Big 10 is a bunch of fags could put up a bigger fight.

They didn't choose their opponent. They just smashed them. I don't fault schools when their competition sucks and they boatrace them.

If they wanted to, the committee could justify this ranking also:

    1. Mich - up from 2
    2. Bama - up from 3
    3. Cincy - up from 4
    4. Georgia - down from 1

It would also avoid the semis rematch of bama v GA

Go back and look at who had the most NFL talent and you'd get your answer. The Texas/USC game might be the only game where the team with the less NFL talent (Texas) won and it took an unreal performance from Vince Young. Clemson actually had more top NFL guys than Bama btw.

Michigan needed a snow storm to beat OSU. They will not get so lucky in the playoffs.

    I'm going by point spreads.

You're asking "who would you favor?" And I'm saying it does not matter.

On a neutral field right now, ohio state would be favored over Cincinnati and utah probably would be also, but guess what, they'll be watching the playoff while cincy is in it.

Michigan deserves their shot at bama, Georgia, cincy.

No one should be afraid of Georgia anymore. No one.

You can make a case for Alabama #1
SEC champs, knocked off unbeaten #1 Georgia, only loss was to a top 20 ranked SEC team.

Only loss a game they clearly should've won and outplayed MSU. Let it slip away closing minutes. Georgia weak schedule and proved today. Bama snuck by Auburn, held on against Arkansas, and LSU almost took them down. LSU outplayed them. UM should be #1, bama 2, georgia 3 cinny 4. msu rankled 8 at that time too and unbeaten.

That would rematch bama and Georgia in the semis and I don't think they'll do that. Let's see.

    TV ratings.

    The game just happened.

If it happens in the final then so be it, but at least put two new matchups in the semis for fresh blood and more national interest.

I mean, they have an entire month to hype the rematch.
It will not have just happened. They are treating SEC East and SEC West as their own conferences at this point. I can't be the only person that doesn't want an all-SEC title game.

I have a feeling ratings will be good for Alabama/UGA at whatever juncture they meet. Will people not watch bc it's a semifinal? I don't know, but I believe they'd make the advertising bucks they're looking for in one game or another. We don't need another SEC title game for the national championship.

If u look at the first 7 years of the CFP before this year, I believe u will find Zero rematches in the semis of games that occurred in the reg season and CCGs.

Let's see what the committee does tomorrow.

All you have to do is look to the SEC OOC. They absolutely demolish teams not named SEC. Cinci is a great cinderella story but the slippers and dress come off shortly.
Mac you're my boy, but Bama was basically beaten by Auburn (who lost to S Carolina). Anybody can beat anybody this year. Cincinnati is vastly underrated....again

Drove home from the casino and WLW Cincinnati said there is a line out there Bearcats +13.5 vs Bama. I'm all over anything close to that! Don't forget Bama's best WR tore his ACL in this game

    Bama:

    beat LSU by 6
    Auburn by 2
    Arkansas by 7
    Florida by 2

Cincinnati beats the dogshit out of LSU and Arkansas at home

I was interested in the UGA/Alabama game today, but I won't tune into another matchup between the two this season. We already know who the better team is. Best we can do this season is even up (no clear-cut champion). I know I'll be in the minority, but what can I say? I can't stay up that late for no resolution. I have to get up at 3:15 am most days.

Georgia would be favored. Bama/Ga will be one/two in latest reliable power ratings. That said, I do think UM would have a chance. Only chance for Cincy would be if Bama assumes the win and gets caught looking ahead. Not unlike vs. Auburn last week.

The committee does what the TV head honchos want for ratings.

They are not going to put two south teams facing each other and two midwest teams facing each other. That will be a ratings disaster.
