I agree, I don't see any value in doing it.

I risked €1,000 to win €600 so it's like 1.60 odds but I agree - taking what ... like 14 bets, not sure it's worth it ... I understand why those who like to lay the favorites might have an edge ... but you can try it either way ... some horses are worth laying but sometimes you "know" it only after the race is over, so that's again .... gambling ... it's unpredictable etc.

if you had the paitence and watched race live the absoulte best strayegy in the USA is look for horses at the gate who act up bad, run off or break through gate. Price doesnt matter if its 1.5 or 40.0 if they do that in the USA the chances are slim to none they win and long run its the most profitable lay angle. Its a USA strategy not for UK though it can be used with more caution as UK horses are tougher then USA

Longshots do win usa tracks too

Way too much pressure for little profit

Laying 1000 to win 600 in horses is very much in the acceptable range IMO if you can stick with 11.0 and less BUT just dont do it blind and make sure they are drifters or non action horses. The last thing you want to do is lay a 20-1 ML thats bet down to 4-1 those are the ones that will kill you

The highlighted is totally wrong. You risked 14,000 to win 600. One thousand, fourteen different times.

Your math makes it sound like it is a not a crazy risk. My math says it is.

You can never win long term doing this. I've seen all the systems and never seen one win over time.

For your own good , you should stop this method.

I really hate seeing people that obviously enjoy horse racing like you must get crushed with a method like this one.

I have a hunch this is more about the high risk rush than it is actually working for a profit.

That might be the first thing you need to reconsider.

You can beat the races. But the amount of time it takes along with patience, discipline and work ethic is too much for most players. So, they concede to losing.

I hope that is not you.

    GL going forward.

    Indeed,
There was no real strategy behind this, I did try to use some market considerations e.g. seeing heavy bets against a horse and joining these bets, but I've seen lots of money being wiped out (just like this Alf's Magic's race, the 2nd favorite scratched minutes or even less before the race started and the favorite won the race after receiving lots of "lay bets" against it in huge amounts. (The scratching lowered the price from 4.00 to 2.50ish).

I agree in races like this you should easily lay other longshots for 10ish but all in all - it's not an easy way to profit, you're likely going to lose the lot ... I was close to do that in dog races where another dog won by inches and I do mean inches (there was a photo taken).
