Guy, SBR does not owe us an explanation. The forum and sportsbook landscape has changed over the past 12 months. Most of the posters around here who DO BET, are not playing offshore anymore. Most of us have USA based sportsbooks within a few hours or you can use draftkings or Fandual.
The forum as it stands right now is really a losing proposition. SBR wouldnt make really money from the current posters. I mean no one really needs a "review site" about USA sportsbooks. The "new owners" really dont need any of us, what they really want are NEW posters and the NEW people who are just starting to gamble on sports online and at US based sportsbooks like Caesar.
Believe it or not, even 5 years ago only about 5% or so of gamblers had ever even heard of a Gambling Forum. And now we would make it up less than 1% with all of the new people jumping onboard with the new USA options.
I would imagine that the forum could stay around, but they really dont need us. They need that new clientele that just started gambling online at Draftkings for instance. Or they wouldnt mind getting members who start gambling at the new casinos in Louisiana for instance that never actually made bets offshore.
The current posters at this site doesnt dont offer very much of a profit incentive. I had always wondered over the past few years how this forum made any money at all to be honest.
It was a good run and fun to post at sites such as this, but this sort of thing is pretty much over now. I will listen to VSIN radio everyday and Sportsgrid radio though. Those are actually great shows to listen to about handicapping. Maybe SBR should advertise with them and they could get a lot of new posters who have never posted on a gambling forum.
OUT WITH OLD....IN WITH THE NEW...
