The Elephant in the Room
With the move to USA Based books I hope that does not mean the end of SBR contests, and the points system. Especially not now as many states are still not up to speed on legal online sports wagering. Will there be a college Bowl pool this year? Who knows? Anyhow SBR is a great site to have entertainment at a low cost. As the landscape changes hopefully SBR can keep the offerings intact.

I mentioned this in another thread but you most definitely will be 1099'd for prize moneys. Bitcoin is now an asset and financially regulated instrument (or will be shortly) so that will either need to be reported or done away with. Likely PayPal/zelle will be utilized.
The good news is that the prize money should grow exponentially. Bad news is that there will be a lot of new faces and scammers picking away at the pools.

SBRs complaints will likely be forwarded on, I don't think they are leaving the offshore community hanging.
My guess is with sbr going legal the pro thing, points thing and btc will all be going away. I’m of the opinion that will be a good thing down the road, legal USA books may want some advertising here but not competition from people who just play with points and don’t deposit at the legal books
I did not renew pro in September despite peer pressure. I'm a forward thinking individual.

yeah valid assertions. but what about players that can not legally play at USA Based books? a lot of states are dragging their feet in making it legal. including mine.
It’s a case of having your cake and eating it to. No way can sbr still support offshore and legal onshore books at the same time, there would be no incentive for legal books to advertise or support anything here. It seems to me sbr made a decision to support legal books and by doing so it will be done offshore, imo it’s a good business decision going forward
I’m with ya on the states dragging their feet, I’m in Florida and although legal has passed it keeps getting postponed for now, so I’ll stick with heritage for now, but I’m also gun shy at this point and will just keep a limited amount of $ there anymore

There is no way prize money stays the same. This site is not going to generate any cash pushing US books. They may decide to take a loss for years to keep the advertising platform.

SBR has what these guys want. Thousands of captive gamblers complete with all of the addresses and phone numbers of known gamblers. That information is worth a lot of money.
