A lot of you guys are applauding this decision.

    I'm not so sure.

If you had a business, like some of us, but definitely not most of you, then I could understand wanting to compare states and books in those states, after all, if you have a wide business with some reach then it applies.

But for the vast majority, what difference does it make what an Iowa book is offering when you are in PA? Who has reach like the bigger organizations?

I am still struggling to see the positive in this change, at least for many of you.

Is there a sister site that will cater to non us and offshore bettors?

I see some questons in this thread too. The answers should be interesting. Will there still be a complaint form for offshore disputes?

Will we be seeing more posters in the Forum of the likes of Windy City Winners and PardonmyPicks?

So what's the new name gonna be since you obviously do not give a shit about being players advocates or reviewing sportsbooks?

KVB I've no idea if this will be good or bad. I think my point above being that we don't know enough about what SBR is moving towards to make an educated decision on what is happening

We may not know what's to come, but I think we know what has gone.

I can't imagine they are leaving a void though. SBR odds is a flagship page. It's bascially gone now.

You might be right, hell, you probably are right KVB. You typically are. You certainly know more about this industry as a whole than most on here. I'll hold judgement until SBR decides to actually add some details to this post

    Maybe?

SBR being sold is the only obvious thing here.

That doesn’t necessarily equate to no more SBR, but it might mean no more SBR as we know it.

this new crackerjack team being assembled..... does that infer Brenner is coming back?

I still have a bone to pick with him due to his "Pig Pen" (from Peanuts) like "aura" -- no, not of dust, but rather of cocaine..... He gave me a good bye hug in Punta Cana that last morning before we flew back to the US, and the drug dog in the charlotte airport about chewed my leg off; followed by a couple of airport security goons rubbing little strips of paper all over me, and the dopes tearing all my luggage apart, convinced I must have brought back a helluva lot of coke.....

some of you may remember the story, as in front of 400-500 people waiting in line, a third tsa homo walks up and yells out, "I AM NOW GOING TO TOUCH YOUR GENITALS, BUT ONLY WITH THE BACKS OF MY HANDS!!!"

to which I responded -- aggravated as shit about the prospect of missing my flight back to Houston -- "GO AHEAD AND USE THE FRONTS, AND GRAB AS MUCH AS YOU WANT -- THERE'S PLENTY THERE!!!"

If it is under new management, there is no SBR. This is a new site and you don't know it. They may have gotten a good deal. Maybe not.

You can probably figure by now I'm in an illegal state.

2025? That's an eternity. And that's assuming all pending bills pass "soon." Take Massachusetts, Home of Draft Kings. There have been 80 different bills sent to the senate floor in the last 3 years after being overwhelming passed to get there and they keep saying there are things more important than sports betting (aka instant revenue).

OK. So if DonBest is out of business, you cannot provide odds. That makes sense.

Additionally, we don't know if they're leaving the offshore odds market. While I think it's likely, this hasn't been explicitly stated by SBR.

But why not? I keep hearing "in time." I find it hard to believe this decision was made on Labor Day. Many of us are paying members. I think we are entitled to a few more details.

Cant imagine SBR would care if you link them if they are not doing offshore anymore.

Feels like its over. Offshore betting feels like Saigon 1974 right now. Yea, its still there, but for how long. Bitcoin regs on the horizon vs legal competitors. Its a black day for sure.

Still processing all this info here.

I have been moving onshore with bigger money for a while now.

But I suppose explaining where you got your bitcoin by saying you buy and sell computer parts around the world is out....

There are special interest lobbyists in California blocking legal sports betting in this state. It will be a while if ever a bill is passed. So from a personal stand point this isn't great news.
However from a business and legal perspective its a good move for SBR. I get it. The business model seems now to have become very cloudy. Is this site a branch of marketing for USA sites ? A regulatory space for disputes? Aren't there ones available via government structures? Time will tell. Not sure anyone knows at this point.

100% percent agree but the one big issue is there are still 20+ states that don't have legal sports gambling. California which has the largest market is one of them and they are at least two years away before it becomes legal. Once sports betting is legal in 45 or more states than yes offshore will not be needed but we are years away from that becoming a reality.
