Normally I would agree but Meyer has made so many missteps so early that I don't think he's cut out for the job. Here's a laundry list...

    - Meyer stood before the media, declared his team’s loss was “heartbreaking,” swore “there are good people in that locker room” who would stick together, then declined to fly home with them. Then Meyer had to apologize to his team. Just as demoralizing: He had to publicly admit he apologized to the team and apologize for being a distraction.

    - He hired a strength coach, Chris Doyle, who was forced out of Iowa after being accused of making racist statements and bullying players, defended it by saying “We did a very good job vetting that one,” then finally caved and fired Doyle. Meyer hired a general manager, Trent Baalke, with a mixed record in San Francisco. (Baalke inherited a budding contender from Scot McCloughan, improved it, and then destroyed it.) Meyer’s two most prominent offensive coaching hires, Darrell Bevell and Brian Schottenheimer, are high on the list of coaches every fan base does not want.

Meyer loves to say his plans or system are “infallible,” and he has an amazing ability to get college players to believe him. This is not college football anymore. He is coaching millionaires and aspiring millionaires. Hiring Doyle after the social-justice protests of last year was a stunningly tin-eared move, and for what?

    - Meyer gave Tim Tebow, who is now 34 years old, a chance to compete for a roster spot at a position he had never played, for the simple reason that Urban Meyer loves Tim Tebow. He split training-camp reps between Lawrence and Gardner Minshew and acted like competition was ongoing when nobody, including Minshew, could possibly believe him. Then, when Lawrence “won” the job, Meyer dealt Minshew for a conditional sixth-round pick.

You can tell the media and recruits that Tebow is a transformational figure, and they might buy it. NFL players are wiser than that. They can tell when a coach plays favorites. (This is not a criticism of Tebow, who, like most former players, just wanted to keep playing.) NFL players also know when a quarterback competition is a sham.

    - Jacksonville was a disorganized mess in its first regular-season game, losing 37–21 to a Texans team that has not been competitive since. The Jags then lost their next three.
    - Meyer is 57 with a history of health problems that are exacerbated by losing. He has never been through anything like this. If you view his time in Jacksonville on its own, and not through the prism of Meyer’s being a coaching legend who must know what he is doing, it has, objectively speaking, been a mess.

Meyer has questioned the way the Jags practice, he was mad during the preseason for guys sitting out with questionable injuries, he's wanted to go more full pad practices. He thought he could entice free agents like the college transfer portal. I think one of the worst decisions he made was admitting the following... This kills a locker room more than anything.

Urban Meyer wanted Kadarius Toney over Travis Etienne

Meyer admitted he was hoping former Florida receiver Kadarius Toney would be available.
“I’ve got to know him over the last couple weeks and obviously with my connection with coach Mullen and those guys,” Meyer said in a press conference on Saturday. “I just think, if you watch him play, he’s a human highlight reel.”

I would say anything that doesn't focus on the product shown on the field is a good thing for the Jaguars right now. Urban has some work ahead of him if he wants to turn it around. Roger Bannon with some great insight. Had me thinking about college to Pro levels and the issues they face.

Biter, mannyyyy, BOOOOOOO, KvBer - love you guys purely sexual though.

Biter I hope the cards are treating you well my friend!

Manny thanks for some laughs, much needed.

Booya I don't know how you still put up with it everyday. Glad to see you are still around.

AJ Brown is coming back....but....maybe Urban worked late this week or let some of the disgruntled players come over to relax with the wife and daughters... Jacksonville could finger out a way to win here and turn the season around

Jacksonville (0-4) will host to Titans (2-2) on Sunday.

Anyone not betting Titans just didn't like making money. Easiest play of the day.

How long before Urban is shown the door? I'm thinking next week. Could be Monday.

I think Urban has coached his last game for Jacksonville. While his chaos and idiocy fits the state he coaches, the nfl can’t have this nonsense.

Forget the distraction angle. The other angle for me is the fact vrabel can't stand him and pretty sure had to be pulled away from kicking his ass while an assistant for him at osu. No way even with all the injuries he'd allow titans to lose this one.

But this is their one chance for a win... Rest of their schedule is a bit tough

If they lose and he stays, he's there for the year

My guess is he stays. He's terrible and on borrowed time. Took a shitty team in JAX and made them worse. But he's been quiet lately which helps his cause, Gruden took heat off him and now the go to London and then have a bye week. If he keeps his mouth shut I assume he sticks around for the entirety of the 0-16 season.

Maybe thats the owners sweet revenge, force him to own an 0-16 and ruin any chance of a future nfl HC spot
