The Chicago Bears are Building a new stadium

They are buying Arlington Park Land to place their new stadium. Not sure what the due date is? Sorry to see Arlington Park end.

A new stadium won’t make them any better. Ryan Pace has set the team back a decade. Why would fans support that? Considering how bad they are

    It's an excellent move

A retractable roof there will bring in 10x the revenue than solider field, and the team can own it like the Rams, and Cowboys, fir example.

Nothing like a super bowl and a final 4 to bring in massive $$$

Soldier Field opened up 1924 and was renovated in early 2000's. It time for a new game in town.

They can't sell out their current home games. a new stadium with more capacity, and a huge flatscreen does nothing to change that. they are a bad football team

It's just a play to leverage the city of Chicago with their new contract, they arent likely going anywhere.

If so, it's quite the ploy. They are showing no signs of that. Moving makes so much sense and immediately adds value. It'll take awhile, but they're leaving.

I suppose they could buy the site...and then flip it? Seems like a weird business move for a football team though. The deal could always fall through for any number of reasons, but it seems fairly obvious that they are serious about it and intending to make it happen. It should immediately increase the franchise value, so I don't see why they wouldn't want to make it happen.

Are you in the area? Arlington Hts site about 5 miles from my house.

That might be part of it, but not all of it. Yeah, all the teams are getting sportsbooks. Draftkings coming to Wrigley.

Yeah, I mean it's a massive site that they will own and can do whatever they hell they want with it. They can build state of the art everything. Soldier Field is garbage.

It's funny to me with all the problems in the US and world that people think this sports stuff and all this funny money is going to last. Sorry to break your bubble, no pun intended, but you're living in a dream world if you think sports is the same as what you are used to, in 3-5 years time.

    Read Igor Makarov.

Pro sports is a gigantic big business.

Since the pandemic viewership alone is up 11 percent.

Sports is not the same as it was four years ago, correct.
The faster one gets on the business side of it and gets away from the fan side of it the happier one will be.

You are missing the point. It has become too political and too big business-y, and when the average american can barely pay for food and gas, sports will not only be not well attended, they'll be largely ignored since there are bigger issues at hand.

Wrong dumb shit, Solider Field is a massive stadium that was recently renovated, they aren't going to build a comparable stadium anytime soon.

Wrong, dumb shit. The mayor of Chicago said last week she is still committed to keeping the Bears in Chicago. The Bears bought land, that's it, that's much different than building a billion dollar stadium which is already there in Chicago.

    Just stop, you know nothing.
