Hurricane Ida may have cured (temporarily) my addiction

You all know i have a gambling problem. Its probably been 2 weeks since i bet anything. No power or water from hurricane since sunday. Tree fell through roof, broke a window and knocked out the fence. Over 100 degrees everyday sweltering. 4 hour wait in line for gas. No ice to be seen anywhere. Finally got power and water back today. Contemplated betting the cardinals about an hour befor the game..but the urge really wasnt there (wish i would have...were crushing 10-0 at like +155). Im sure it will come back. But maybe this hurricane knocked a little sense into me.
With covid shit and political bs plus Drew retired..im just not even excited at all about football season.

Your dopamine has been reset. If you Jake one bet you will spiral out of control.

This is your chance to quit if you really want to

I would try avoiding watching sports. Sports and gambling are so intertwined that you'll feel the urge rather quickly once life goes back to normal. Good luck!

Losing 100s of thousands of dollars couldn’t do it.

    Losing Girlfriends couldn’t do it.

Losing family members couldn’t do it

Losing a college education couldn’t do it.

    A 12 step program couldn’t do it.

A Hurricane named Ida could do it.. Cant make this shitt up.

I wish you the best but I have a feeling when the sun shines you’ll be in the game,
and why not after all it is CFB time.

glad you're ok and i hope you're able to continue staying away. as you said, the recent harsh conditions you've had to endure have served as a big reality check for you. if you can challenge yourself to remain in that mindset in the short-term here, a couple more weeks will have passed by before you know it. and the longer you're away from it, the less likely you'll feel the need for it. good luck
