New York Mets acting GM Zack Scott arrested on DWI charge

New York Mets acting general manager Zack Scott will not join the team for its upcoming road trip after he was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated, the team announced Wednesday.

Scott was arrested at around 4:15 a.m. Tuesday in suburban White Plains, New York. Police found him asleep at the wheel of his SUV at a traffic light and determined he was intoxicated, White Plains police Capt. James Spencer said. He said Scott refused a breathalyzer test.

Yeah, I hear you. However, shit-faced blotto, passed out at a stop light at 4 a.m. is pretty inexcusable. Then he refused the breathalyzer, so that probably means automatic loss of license for a while. All the above should mean the permanent loss of license. I have no sympathy for DUIers. Blowing just above .08 after a few glasses of wine with dinner is one thing. But passing out behind the wheel - you should never be allowed to legally drive again.

In a high-profile job like his, it will mean termination for sure.

    Who cares?

You are a saint or just plain lucky if you haven’t had a DUI scare in your lifetime. 99% of the forum has driven over the legal limit. You never know when you’ll get popped. I had 5 beers over the course of 3 hours when I got pulled over for doing a legal u turn and pulling into a strip club parking lot. Refused to blow. Always refuse to blow if you’ve had anything. I had to go sober for over a year and pay up for a lawyer, but I got the charges tossed. I was just in Utah where the legal limit is .05. You literally have to be Mormon to not drive over that limit here and there.
