Let’s discuss the Los Angeles chargers

I’ve been peaking at future odds. Books think the chargers will be a potential wild card team. It looks like they win 10 games. They have a very difficult first hf of the season schedule but the run in looks relatively easy. I saw them play a lot last season and now Lynn is gone thankfully. He easily cost them 3-4 wins. I’m a bit concerned that Herbert might not be as good on the second go around but they have a good line and he has weapons.

    Thoughts?

San Diego is cursed. No matter the coach or quarterback or city they are in. They will lose games no other team will lose and in a different way each time. They have been the keystone cops the last 20+ years when it comes to snatching defeat from victory. I’d bet they do not make the playoffs nor win 10 games. Justin Herbert couldn’t beat a freshman at Auburn playing his first game, so i know he won’t consistently beat good qbs in the league.

San Diego is one of those teams where they are almost good enough to make the playoffs every year it seems. Sometime they do. Much like my Dolphins and half the NFL teams.

Their QB is the real deal. They could go 12-5 or 5-12 but probably will be somewhere in between, like 9-8 or 10-7 and be in the playoff hunt in week 17 and even week 18.

Will be tough for them. Chiefs win the division. Raiders/Chargers #2, but not likely high enough to make the playoffs.

    Yeah.
    Herbert is totally legit.
    Their offense is loaded.
Ekeler is a duel purpose back.
They have two wideouts that are great.
Keenan Allen who's a top five WR in the league, and Mike Williams, watch him play man, he's a big yardage playmaker.
And the TE Jared Cook, he's a pro's pro.

LAC will go as far as their defense will take them.

everything word you said I agree with. Mike Williams seems to be always injured. He's similar to Parker on Miami.

I don’t think so. Why are they favoured on the road vs a playoff team with that defensive front? Washington is one of those supposed sharp sides that will lose. My two cents

Brutal division. The other interesting thing will be to see if Herbert suffers a “sophomore slump”

Derwin James staying healthy would be huge for the defense.

They have been very unfortunate with injuries the last several years and had the worst coach in the NFL too

Lynn is gone so if they can just have a somewhat healthy season, I think they make the playoffs

As mentioned, Derwin James will be key to reaching their potential on defense, and offensively speaking the line needs to be much better. Everyone assuming that their OL improvement is automatic, but it remains to be seen. Bulaga is getting older and can't seem to stay on the field at RT, Slater is expected to be a stud at LT but he's a rookie and nothing is guaranteed, the two guard spots are manned by average players at best. The addition of Linsley at center is probably the only sure thing.

The rumor I heard is they might keep the name they have today. Too many other names offend someone.

Here is the list of possible:

    • Red Wolves/Redwolves. Regardless of which spelling you prefer, this name has traction with a large segment of the fan base. ...
    • Redtails/Red Tails. ...
    • Hogs/Red Hogs. ...
    • Senators. ...
    • Commanders/Generals. ...
    • Football Team/Washington Football Club.

Personally, I think he should tell the cucks to f themselves and just go back to Redskins. I would become a fan of the organization immediately.

    Washington Hogs for me.

    Agreed.
    It's Snyder's team.
As principal owner he should be able to call them the Washington Clusterfucks if he so chooses.

I get it, I do, even team owner have to report to the league boss and all, but Holy Mother of God, enough of this p.c. bullshit.

Brandon Staley will make this a top defense in short order. His only issues are health and the fact that there is now tape on his scheme. I like the Chargers a lot.

    Odds Makers have it at:

    Broncos o/u 8.5

I think Raiders will and Chargers battle for 2nd place.

I'm not sold on the Raiders, but that seven win total does seem quite low.

Herbert is good but be careful of the Sophomore slump. Keenan Allen will get his 1k yards. Austin Ekeler is versatile but doesn't score a lot. The Defense is projected to be top 10 that might save them though. Still, given their division and road games I say 9-7 maybe 10-6 If Herbert does well and they can beat LV twice.
