Your theory does not hold up.
Gambling has mattered for a long time not just when it was legalized. And outside of Vegas gambling offshore has been around for longer than 10 years. Does the NBA care if books offshore made money, not exactly but did they care if those books were at least successful? Yes I think they do because gambling draws interest and if those books close up shop then theres less day to day interest in their sport

    Giannis is a real man.

    Ain't like Kawhi's bitch ass.

One of the only players today that actually has Kobe's mamba mentality. You're hurt? Who cares. Do what your knee lets you do. Man up.

Yeah we will see in a couple hours. If he reinjures himself then it only helps the Suns.

The average viewer of the nba finals 10 years ago was not gambling on it offshore. NBA does not care if pinnacle or 5dimes go out of business, they never did. Every book for themselves. NBA doesn't even care about Vegas. NBA cares about views, ratings. They have their own money to make. You say it's intertwined, but the NBA didn't rig Bryant and Lebron not meeting int he finals, sacrificing billions, so that Vegas wouldn't have to pay out a few million bucks in futures. Believe me.

Big sportsbooks in Vegas come out and say "We have someone who stands to risk 500,000 on this future. We could take a big loss here." Lmfao. 500 grand? NBA isn't rigging anything for 500 grand. Lebron makes 500 grand per game, by himself. NBA is shitting out billions of dollars, they don't have time for Vegas and their little 500 grand payouts on a future.

Have you ever been to Mke laker?

I've been born and raised and still live in Milwaukee. Yes, it's not LA or Miami by any means and the weather does suck but as far as the city itself truly is decent. Cool city, decent night life and definitely imo all walks of life and people are generally kick ass.

I think you are mixing in alot of different situations and scenarios into one. This is where this conversation is tough to have on a sports forum. NBA cares about views and ratings, which has some correlation with gambling. If you think regular fans who dont bet are driving ratings day to day I think you are mistaken.
As for ten years ago, I was literally on here 10 years ago and betting was around and still a big deal. Offshore was making tons of money.
Now as for your futures comment, yes the NBA doesnt care about 500k futures but they do care about game to game liabilities and NBA finals with Lebron and Kobe brings big numbers, much larger than 500k.
We arent going to see eye to eye on this, we both come from different angles and to a certain extent we are both doing fine gambling using each of our own processes. Theres probably truth to both sides or one of us would be losing our shirt

I can see Ayton winning the final's MVP (10-1). Rather like how Leonard won it in the series vs James. To be 3rd in your team's pecking order and more or less play the opposing team's star to a standstill... that does the trick.

I am not hedging yet but if the Suns take it to 7 that will be a tough call.

I'm in same boat Snowball. I'm just a recreational bettor. With that said I took bucks +575 in May and have 375$ bet on them to win almost 2,200.

It's not enough of a wager to hedge IMO, plus I really believe the bucks take this so let's let it ride buddy!! We got this

That block on Ayton didn't look boring to me. They probably showed it over 100 times on ESPN throughout the day. Probably one of the most improbable blocks in NBA history. Guy is guarding Booker at the free throw line, Booker lobs it over him, Giannis turns, takes one step to the rim, explodes, and blocks the ball at the highest point on an alley-oop? Never been done in history on this stage. Seen all the finals. Never saw a play like that before.
