They are all young. Don't know the legends. This is the generation that thinks Lebron is better than Jordan. Sad.

    RIP

I remember sitting on the edge of my seat screaming at the TV when the Lakers played those Jazz teams. Those guys were tough as nails. You did not go into the paint against Mark Eaton and expect to come out unscathed.

I was surprised when I read 4th all time on blocks.

I remember him playing for awhile, and being a decent big man -but if someone would've just popped a quiz on me to list top 5 all time blocks - Eaton wouldn't of been on my mind.
Heck, if I was gave a multiple choice of who is 4th all-time in blocks and Eaton was a choice vs other popular names of NBA centers, I'd probably of chosen someone other than him.

Mark played JC ball at Cypress College in Southern California. There's a banner in the gym with his name on it.

R.I.P. Big fella. God's blessings and speed.

Mark Eaton could've touched his dick to Bill Walton's Nips without jumping or standing on his tip toes

He was in good shape. He was riding a Dirtysixer bike. They have 36" tires. The typical bike has 26" tires.

    Eaton for sure.
Not only was he the nicest of nice guys, everything he touched turned to gold.
I was reading where he was a master auto mechanic right out of HS making ridiculous money as a gear head when he was 18 back in 70's

He owned a restaurant I read that made toms of money too.

    Legend.

I don't know anything more than most of you guys but I think when you are that big the COD is probably going to be a heart attack.
The authorities are saying there in no foul play whatsoever, he was squeaky clean and healthy...

What else could it be if you are 7' 3" and die during a bike workout.
Heart was probably working a little overtime is my guess.

I almost cried when I heard that.
Stockton and Malone played dirty ball at times, Eaton did not have to.
His skills were filthy dirty (in a good way) enough.

Defensive legend not of just his era, all eras.
Ask Jabbar if he enjoyed Eaton defending him.

Very classy things were said by all the talking heads in the booths today (like Barkley, Shaq, all of them)
Every one of the greats were saying how great a player he was and a great human.
And what they were saying was not lip service either.

I meant like in their bike accidents

would you rather get hit and be paralyzed from neck down for life

or have a bike accident and die and not have to suffer anymore after a great life?

I'd go Eaton's route most likely at his age

Wonder how many times he blocked Kareem.

*I loved the block vs Rex Chapman. Like the ball just stuck there.
